Fry had more experience than most of the Blue Jays' non-roster invitees but didn't pitch well this spring. The veteran left-hander has struggled mightily with his control the last two seasons in the majors.

Fry signed a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Friday. The deal includes an invitation to major-league spring training, where Fry will compete for a job in the bullpen. Fry looked for a time like a nice late-inning, left-handed relief weapon, but he's fallen on hard times the last two seasons, posting a 6.12 ERA over 65 appearances.

The 30-year-old was designated for assignment by Arizona in August and will head into the offseason as a free agent. Fry appeared in only 13 major-league games this year and posted a 6.23 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB in 13 innings.

Between stops at Baltimore and Arizona this season, the 30-year-old lefty reliever has posted a 6.23 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 13 innings in the big leagues this season.
