  • Silvino Bracho: Elects free agency
    By RotoWire

Bracho elected to become a free agent Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Bracho appeared in five games for the Reds in 2023, giving up three runs through 7.1 innings while striking out six batters and walking six. He didn't have much success in Triple-A, posting a 5.51 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 50.2 frames, and he'll now look to latch on with another organization.

  • The Reds selected Bracho's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. Bracho will join the Reds ahead of their series finale with the Rockies, returning to the big-league roster after being designated for assignment in late May. The right-hander has compiled a 5.06 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings in four appearances with Cincinnati this season. He'll help replace Casey Legumina (shoulder) in the major-league bullpen after Legumina was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

  • Bracho cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday. The Reds designated Bracho for assignment earlier this week, and it's no real surprise to see him pass through waivers unclaimed given his struggles. Bracho flashed some promise back in 2018 with Arizona, but he's been unable to carve out a consistent relief role in the majors in recent years.
