  • Roberto Ramos: Released by Red Sox
    By RotoWire

Ramos was released by the Red Sox on Monday, Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports. Ramos spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Korea Baseball Organization's LG Twins before joining the Red Sox on a minor-league deal in February. After struggling to impress in his return to affiliated ball at Triple-A Worcester, Ramos was granted his release by the organization and is expected to return to Korea before the end of the 2022 campaign.

  • Ramos signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports. The 27-year-old last played affiliated ball in 2019, when he hit .309/.400/.580 with 30 homers for Triple-A Albuquerque in the Rockies' system. With no big-league opportunity on the horizon despite that strong performance, he signed with the KBO's LG Twins and had a dominant year, hitting .278/.362/.592 and finishing second in the league with 38 homers despite playing just 117 games. His numbers fell to .243/.317/.422 the next season, however, and he was let go after just 51 games. If he can get back to his 2019-20 form, he'll have a shot at making his big-league debut, though the Red Sox have prospect Triston Casas ready to push Bobby Dalbec for playing time at first base at some point over the summer, so his window of opportunity may be slim.

He experienced plenty of success in his first season, launching a franchise-best 38 home runs. He could earn up to $1 million.

  • Roberto Ramos: Heads to Korea
    By RotoWire

Ramos signed with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Ramos isn't considered an elite prospect, but any decent hitter on the cusp of a debut at Coors Field is potentially worth a look, and Ramos certainly fit that description. He's no longer worth hanging onto in dynasty formats, though it's certainly possible that he breaks out in Korea and pushes for a big-league job in the future.

  • Ramos went 2-for-5 with a grand slam for Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday. Ramos has been raking in the Pacific Coast League, as this sixth-inning grand slam marked his 17th long ball of the season to go along with an impressive .300/.393/.583 slash line through 270 at-bats. He's also driven in 62 runs and laced 14 doubles. This is the 24-year-old's first stint above Double-A in his six-season minor-league career, so he's certainly doing a good job with the opportunity to this point.
