Suero cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. The Astros designated Suero for assignment Friday, two days after optioning the right-hander to Triple-A Sugar Land. No team picked him up off waivers, so Suero will stick around with Sugar Land for the time being. He's appeared in five games in Triple-A, posting a 3.60 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with five strikeouts and zero walks over five innings.

Suero was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. The Astros signed Suero to a minor-league contract in December. The right-hander surrendered seven earned runs in just eight innings at the major-league level with the Dodgers in 2023. In a corresponding move, Oliver Ortega (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL to create a 40-man roster spot for Suero.

Suero (back) was activated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Suero is over his back issue following a two-week absence but will not join the major-league roster. The 32-year-old reliever holds a 7.88 ERA over five appearances during his time with the Dodgers this season.
