Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Padres. Guerrero has now homered twice over his last three contests following a 17-game power drought. This was also his first multi-hit effort since June 26 versus the Rangers. The first baseman is enduring a down year, batting .265 with a .709 OPS, six homers, 41 RBI, 51 runs scored and 14 doubles over 90 contests, though he's also at seven steals, one shy of matching his career high from 2022.

Guerrero went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 10-0 win over the Giants. The first baseman snapped a 17-game homer drought, launching just his fifth long ball of the season in the ninth inning off Ryan Walker. Guerrero's had a rough first half -- during that 17-game drought, he managed a weak .194/.250/.226 slash line with only two doubles and five RBI -- but Wednesday's blast could help take some of the pressure off just ahead of the All-Star break.

Guerrero was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets due to back tightness. The star first baseman departed Friday's contest against the Cubs due to a back issue, but he didn't miss any additional time until being scratched from Tuesday's starting nine. Guerrero should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated. Sean Keys will shift to first base for Toronto.

Guerrero (back) will start at first base and bat third Saturday against the Cubs. Guerrero was forced out of Friday's game early due to a back injury, but it won't prevent him from missing a start. The 27-year-old has been trending downward since the beginning of June, slashing just .189/.241/.302 with six RBI and five runs scored across 14 games this month.

Guerrero was removed from Friday's contest versus the Cubs in the sixth inning with an apparent back/side injury, Sportsnet reports. Vlad Jr. popped out on the first pitch of the top of the sixth inning and immediately grabbed at his back/left side area before jogging slowly to first base. He was removed from the game prior to the bottom of the sixth. The Blue Jays should offer more on Guerrero's condition soon. He was hitless in three plate appearances before departing.
