The Chunichi Dragons of Nippon Professional Baseball signed Vosler on Nov. 28, Yahoo Japan reports. Vosler, 31, spent most of the 2024 season at Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization, slashing .303/.371/.573 with 31 home runs. He has hit .207/.274/.395in limited playing time across parts of four major-league seasons.

The Mariners outrighted Vosler to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. He's no longer on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. Vosler has batted only .179/.233/.286 over 10 games in the majors this season.

The Mariners designated Vosler for assignment on Monday. Vosler will cede his spot on the Mariners' 40-man roster to lefty reliever Austin Kitchen, whom Seattle claimed off waivers from Miami. Before he was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Aug. 8, Vosler enjoyed a two-week run in the big leagues with Seattle shortly after the All-Star break, slashing .179/.233/.286 over 10 games. The 31-year-old corner infielder is likely to go unclaimed off waivers.

Vosler was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday. Vosler will head back to Tacoma after spending over two weeks with the major-league club, going 5-for-28 with a triple, a double, three RBI and two runs scored. In a corresponding move, Dominic Canzone (thigh) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Vosler will start at first base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Red Sox. Vosler will pick up his fifth start in six games Monday, but his run of steady playing time will likely soon come to an end. The Mariners have acquired two everyday players in Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner within the past few days, and Vosler looks to be one of the Mariners regulars most at risk of losing out on work as Seattle clears room in the lineup for the new arrivals. Vosler has gone 4-for-18 with two extra-base hits, one walk, two RBI and two runs since getting called up from Triple-A Tacoma last Monday.
