  • Gurriel (knee) exercised his $13 million player option for 2026 on Monday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Gurriel had right ACL surgery in September and will miss at least the first couple months of the 2026 season, which made picking up his option a fairly easy decision. The 32-year-old outfielder slashed .248/.295/.418 with 19 home runs over 129 games for the Diamondbacks before getting injured.

  • Gurriel (knee) underwent surgery Thursday, MLB.com reports. Gurriel tore his ACL during a game Sept. 1 and is slated to miss a significant portion of the 2026 season. A clear timeline hasn't been established, and his return depends on a number of factors. Nine months is the starting point, and recovery can extend up to 12 months.

  • Gurriel will undergo ACL surgery Thursday and is expected to need at least 9-to-10 months of recovery, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Gurriel tore his ACL on Sept. 2, which will force him out for the rest of the 2025 season as well as much of the upcoming 2026 season. If the reported recovery timeline stays true for the outfielder, he might be able to return in June or July of next year.

  • Gurriel was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a torn ACL in his right knee. The 31-year-old suffered the injury in left field during Monday's contest and will now miss the rest of the season. Gurriel closes out 2025 with 19 homers, a career-high 10 steals and a .248/.295/.418 slash line in 129 games. The veteran outfielder has a $13 million player option for 2026, which he seems likely to exercise since he's now poised to be unavailable for the start of next season.

  • Gurriel suffered a right knee injury in Monday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Rangers, Megan Plain of Fox 10 Phoenix reports. Gurriel was carted off the field after wiping out in left field in the sixth inning, and it is now understood to be a knee injury. Manager Torey Lovullo said following the game that Gurriel will undergo imaging on his right knee Tuesday and that "it doesn't look great." With less than a month remaining in the 2025 season, it's certainly possible that the injury could prove to be season-ending for the 31-year-old.
