Reynolds is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. Reynolds is absent from the starting lineup for the regular-season finale, snapping a streak of eight consecutive starts. If he doesn't enter Sunday's contest off the bench, Reynolds will finish the campaign with a .244/.317/.399 slash line, 16 home runs and 67 runs scored -- all of which would be his worst since 2020.

Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored Friday against the A's. Reynolds drove in a run and came around to score in the first inning to aid a three-run rally for Pittsburgh. He's having an interesting close to the season, hitting only .222 with one homer and four RBI across 15 starts in September. However, he's reaching base at a .344 clip with eight runs scored in the same span.

Reynolds is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cubs. Reynolds will get a routine day off while he's in the midst of a 4-for-31 stretch at the plate over his last eight contests. Nick Yorke will start in right field and bat seventh for the Pirates.

He's underwhelmed for large stretches of the season but has five home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored across his last 32 games while hitting .296.

Reynolds had started every game dating back to Aug. 5, so he'll be getting a well-deserved breather Sunday as the Pirates close out their series in Boston. With Reynolds on the bench, Alexander Canario will receive the starting nod in right field.
