Harris elected to become a free agent Wednesday. Harris cleared waivers after being removed from the Rangers' 40-man roster and has opted to hit the free-agent market. The 26-year-old has hit .217/.280/.435 over 21 games during his brief time with the Rangers across the past two seasons.

The Rangers placed Harris on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a sprained wrist, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Texas had initially planned to option Harris, but that's been voided and he'll instead spend the remainder of the regular season on the injured list. Harris has slashed .200/.256/.350 with one home run, two RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base and a 3:13 BB:K across 43 trips to the plate with Texas this season.

Harris was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. In Harris' most recent stint with the Rangers, he went 1-for-5 with a double over three games. The outfielder has struggled while up with the big-league club this season, posting a .606 OPS with a home run, three doubles, two RBI, a stolen base and a 30.2 percent strikeout rate across 43 plate appearances. His demotion Sunday was the corresponding move to Adolis Garcia (quadriceps) being activated from the injured list.

The Rangers selected Harris' contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. The 26-year-old will return to the active roster to replenish the Rangers' outfield depth following Adolis Garcia's (quad) move to the injured list. Harris slashed .200/.263/.343 with an RBI and four runs scored across 38 plate appearances while with the big club earlier in the year, but he owns an .845 OPS since being sent down to Triple-A. He's likely ticketed for a bench role while in Arlington.

The Rangers outrighted Harris to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. Harris was designated for assignment Thursday in the aftermath of the trade deadline but will remain in the Texas organization upon going unclaimed off waivers. The 26-year-old outfielder posted a .606 OPS over 38 plate appearances with the Rangers earlier this season but has spent the bulk of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock, with whom he's slashed .262/.355/.401 with nine home runs and 24 stolen bases in 66 games.
