The Mets claimed De Los Santos off waivers from the Blue Jays on Monday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports. De Los Santos, 26, got a cup of coffee with the Blue Jays in 2024 but spent most of the season at Triple-A Buffalo, where he hit .260/.375/.441 with six homers over 43 games. He is capable of playing every infield position as well as left field.

De Los Santos is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Julia Kreuz of MLB.com reports. De Los Santos secured his first career major-league hit in Sunday's 8-4 loss against the Athletics, finishing his day 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. He's now set to return to Triple-A as Toronto continues to evaluate the talent they have in their lower levels.
