The Angels outrighted Quijada to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday. Quijada cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization. The lefty reliever has made two appearances for the Halos this season, tossing 1.1 scoreless frames.

The Angels designated Quijada for assignment Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. The move frees up a spot on the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster after the Angels acquired relievers Luis Garcia and Andrew Chafin from the Nationals on Wednesday. Quijada had tossed 1.1 scoreless frames covering two relief appearances with the Halos.

The Angels selected the contract of Quijada from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday. The Angels outrighted Quijada to Triple-A Salt Lake at the end of March after he cleared waivers. He was later assigned to Double-A Rocket City on May 10. Since then, the 29-year-old has posted a 2.73 ERA with a 39:9 K:BB in 26.1 innings through 27 games. In a corresponding move Thursday, the Angels optioned Jake Eder to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The Angels outrighted Quijada to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday after he cleared waivers. Quijada was cast off the Angels' 40-man roster last week, when Los Angeles needed to free up a spot for right-handed reliever Ryan Johnson. After attracting no interest on the waiver wire, Quijada will remain in the Angels organization and serve as bullpen depth in the upper levels of the minors.

The Angels and Quijada avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $1.075 million contract Tuesday. The deal also includes a $3.75 million club option for 2026. Quijada, 29, has missed much of the last two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he returned in late July this past season and posted a 3.26 ERA and 24:17 K:BB over 19.1 innings. He could see some high-leverage relief work for the Angels in 2025.
