  • Rodriguez will start in center field and bat leadoff in Friday's ALCS Game 5 versus the Blue Jays. The Mariners tweaked their lineup in Game 4 and are shaking it up further for Game 5 after the Blue Jays evened the series Thursday. It's the first time since late July that Rodriguez has batted leadoff for Seattle. Randy Arozarena -- who had batted leadoff in every one of his starts since July 31 -- has been bumped down to the No. 5 spot.

  • Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of the American League Division Series. The superstar outfielder gave the Mariners the lead on a solo homer in the fourth inning and tied the game with an RBI single in the sixth. He added another single in the 11th, but it ultimately wasn't enough, as aside from Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh, no other Mariners player recorded a hit. Rodriguez should be back in the three hole against lefty Tarik Skubal on Sunday as Seattle attempts to even the series.

  • Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Dodgers. The Mariners have clinched the division and a first-round bye, so they will give their franchise player an extra rest day ahead of the postseason. Rodriguez swiped two bags Saturday, reaching 30-30 for the second time in his young career.

  • Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Dodgers. Rodriguez reached on a fielder's choice and stole second and third in the first inning to secure the second 30-30 campaign of his career. He's the only player in Mariners history with multiple 30-30 seasons, and he's still just 24 years old. The outfielder has hit well in September, going 25-for-92 (.272) with six steals and 13 extra-base hits over 24 games. Overall, he's at 30 thefts, 32 homers, 95 RBI, 106 runs scored and a .267/.324/.474 slash line through 160 games this season.
