  • Neto is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. In the midst of a 1-for-24 drought at the dish, Neto is receiving a rare day off. Jack Lopez will cover shortstop and bat second for the Angels while Neto gets some rest.

  • Neto went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a double in Tuesday's 10-5 loss at Minnesota. • Angels' Zach Neto: Joins 25-steal club
    By RotoWire

Neto went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and a run scored in Friday's 9-5 loss to the Mariners. Neto manufactured the Angels' second run after getting plunked in the first inning, as he stole second and third before scoring on a Nolan Schanuel sacrifice fly. Consistency has eluded Neto in August -- he's hitting .240 (24-for-100) with seven home runs, 19 RBI and six steals over 26 contests this month. Overall, the second-year shortstop has a well-rounded .252/.317/.450 slash line with 20 home runs, 25 steals, 66 RBI, 59 runs scored and 28 doubles across 131 games.
