Beavers (shin) will start in left field and bat fifth against the Yankees on Saturday. Beavers was forced out of Friday's game after he fouled a ball off his right shin, but he won't have to miss a start due to the incident. The 24-year-old has begun his MLB career on a high note since joining the big club in mid-August, slashing .240/.383/.423 across 129 plate appearances.

X-rays on Beavers' right shin came back negative following his removal from Friday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Beavers left Friday's contest after fouling a ball off his shin during the fourth inning, but he didn't suffer any fractures as a result of the incident. He can be considered day-to-day for now, but there's no guarantee he plays again this season with just two games remaining on the schedule.

Beavers was removed from Friday's game against the Yankees with right shin discomfort, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Beavers fouled a ball off his lower leg during his at-bat in the fourth inning and was replaced on defense once the O's took the field in the bottom of the frame. The severity of the outfielder's injury isn't immediately clear, but with just two games remaining in the regular season, it's possible the team could keep Beavers on the bench to close out the year as a precaution.

Beavers went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three RBI in Tuesday's win against the White Sox. Beavers knocked an RBI triple in the fifth inning before belting a two-run homer in the seventh. It was his second career long ball and first since Aug. 21, snapping a 20-game drought. Beavers owns a strong .275/.420/.438 slash line with eight extra-base hits and 11 RBI through his first 101 plate appearances, but he has only one steal in two attempts for Baltimore after going 23-for-28 on the basepaths at Triple-A Norfolk prior to his promotion.

Beavers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. The left-handed-hitting Beavers will head to the bench for the series finale while the Dodgers send southpaw Clayton Kershaw to the hill. Dylan Carlson will step in for Beavers in left field.
