  • The Dodgers promoted De Paula from High-A Great Lakes to Double-A Tulsa on Monday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. De Paula will be joined in Tulsa by one of the Dodgers' other top prospects in outfielder Zyhir Hope, who will also get bumped up from High-A. Over 426 plate appearances this season with Great Lakes, the 20-year-old De Paula slashed .263/.406/.421 with 12 home runs, 32 stolen bases, a 19 percent walk rate and a 20.2 percent strikeout rate.

  • High-A Great Lakes placed De Paula on its 7-day injured list Saturday due to an unspecified injury. De Paula hadn't played since Wednesday before Great Lakes deactivated him three days later. The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the more exciting lower-level prospects in baseball this season, as he's displayed an impressive blend of power (21 extra-base hits), speed (27-for-33 on steal attempts) and on-base skills (19 percent walk rate) over 82 games for Great Lakes in addition to taking home All-Star Futures Game MVP honors earlier this month. The Dodgers haven't provided a timeline for his return to action.

  • De Paula was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Dodgers on Sunday. De Paula went 4-for-9 with a double, three RBI, four runs scored, three stolen bases and three walks while striking out two times over eight games during spring training. The outfielder played in 52 games with High-A Great Lakes last season, batting .253 with four home runs, 21 RBI, 32 runs scored and 13 stolen bases over 178 at-bats, and he'll likely open the 2025 campaign by returning to Great Lakes.

  • De Paula is hitting .227 with zero home runs and a 27.3 percent strikeout rate in 24 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Considering De Paula logged a 118 wRC+ in 74 games at Single-A last year, it's surprising to see him struggling to this extent (81 wRC+) in a return to the Cal League. He is 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts and has eight doubles and two triples, but his strikeout rate is up from 17.9 percent last year and his walk rate is down from 13.5 percent to 9.1 percent.
