• Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Moves to 60-day IL

  The Brewers transferred Dunn (back) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Dunn hasn't played at any level since June 12, with his last appearance coming with the Brewers before he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on June 19. The Brewers later revoked the transaction June 27, instead placing him on their 10-day injured list with a back strain. Though Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Dunn's placement on the 10-day IL that the utility infielder would be sidelined for at least one month, the 26-year-old's move to the 60-day IL now indicates that Milwaukee is preparing for him to miss at least two months. In a corresponding move, Brewers selected the contract of outfielder Brewer Hicklen to take Dunn's spot on the 40-man roster.

• Brewers' Oliver Dunn: Sidelined at least one month

  Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Dunn has a disc issue in his back and is expected to remain on the injured list for at least another month, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Dunn landed on the MLB injured list Wednesday after originally being sent to Triple-A on June 19, and it now seems that he'll be stuck on the IL for an extended period of time. The 26-year-old infielder hadn't been playing very often anyway prior to landing on the IL, and he'll likely be optioned to Nashville again once he's fully recovered.

  The Brewers recalled Dunn from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday and placed him on the 10-day injured list with a back strain. Dunn was optioned to Nashville last week, but it turns out that he had been dealing with a back injury so he will go on the IL instead. It's not clear how long he might be sidelined, but the infielder could be optioned again once he's healthy.

  The Brewers optioned Dunn to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. Playing time has been hard to come across recently for Dunn, and the emergence of Joey Ortiz hasn't helped. The 26-year-old Dunn has slashed .221/.282/.316 through 104 plate appearances in the big leagues this year and will now head back to the minors to get back on track. Tyler Black was recalled from Nashville in a corresponding move.

  Dunn was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the White Sox. The 26-year-old was set to receive his first start in a week Sunday, but he'll instead sit as William Contreras and Willy Adames were late additions to the lineup. Joey Ortiz has established himself as Milwaukee's everyday third baseman, so Dunn is unlikely to see much playing time while the infield group remains healthy.
