• Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Out eight weeks after wrist surgery

  Eldridge will undergo surgery to remove a bone spur from his left wrist and is expected to need eight weeks to recover, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Eldridge got a late start to this season after suffering a wrist injury during spring training. It's unclear how much the wrist might have bothered him throughout the 2025 campaign, but he and the Giants have decided it's best to get it surgically corrected now. Eldridge's availability for spring training is not expected to be affected, and the 20-year-old will have a chance to make the Opening Day roster after getting a cup of coffee late this season.

  Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies. Eldridge will close out the season with consecutive absences from the lineup as the Giants go with Rafael Devers at designated hitter and Wilmer Flores at first base. Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 15, Eldridge has hit just .115 with a 35.3 percent strikeout rate over 34 plate appearances.

  Eldridge went 1-for-3 with three RBI, a double, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Dodgers. Eldridge hit a three-run double to left field in the first inning before coming around to score, giving the Giants an early 4-0 lead. It was the 20-year-old's first major-league hit after going 0-for-9 in his first three games. Before being called up to the majors, Eldridge slashed .249/.322/.514 with 63 RBI, 31 runs scored, 18 long balls and a stolen base across 286 plate appearances for Triple-A Sacramento.

  Eldridge went 0-for-3 with one strikeout in Monday's 8-1 loss to the Diamondbacks. Eldridge, who was promoted from Triple-A Sacramento to make his big-league debut Monday, didn't quite provide the offensive spark his team was looking for, as the Giants were held to two hits on the night. Even so, the 20-year-old slugger should see a healthy dose of at-bats down the stretch of the regular season in either the DH role or at first base while San Francisco fights to earn a postseason bid.
