The Mets outrighted Gage to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports. Gage has accepted the assignment and will remain in the organization. The lefty spent all of 2024 at the Triple-A level, collecting a 4.10 ERA and 51:22 K:BB over 41.2 innings.

The Mets are swapping left-handed relievers on the 26-man active roster, with Gage taking the spot of Jake Diekman, who has been designated for assignment. Gage holds a 3.42 ERA and 34:14 K:BB over 26.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2024 and collected a 1.83 ERA in 16 appearances at the big-league level between 2022 and 2023.

The Mets acquired Gage from the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations. He was subsequently optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. The Dodgers added Gage to their 40-man roster last week, and he was quickly shipped off to another organization. The left-hander has a 4.29 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB over 21 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

The Dodgers added Gage to their 40-man roster Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. Gage exercised an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract Wednesday, but he'll instead remain with the organization now that he owns a spot on the 40-man. The 31-year-old southpaw will remain in Triple-A, however, where he's posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 19.1 innings this season. J.P. Feyereisen was outrighted to Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.
