The Phillies claimed McMillon (elbow) off waivers from the Marlins on Monday. McMillon ended the 2024 season on the injured list with an elbow injury, but the Phillies are evidently comfortable with his health situation. The right-handed reliever holds a 1.69 ERA and 21:5 K:BB over 16 innings during parts of two seasons at the major-league level.

The Marlins placed McMillon on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow tightness. McMillon threw just two pitches and gave up a single before his injury forced him out of Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh, and he will now be forced to sit out until at least Sept. 27. The 26-year-old righty owns a 1.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 12 innings in the majors this season, but given the fact Miami has already been eliminated from the postseason, the Marlins likely won't be in any rush to bring him back.

The Marlins recalled McMillon from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. McMillon was claimed off waivers from the Royals a week ago and will now receive an opportunity in the big-league bullpen. The right-hander made four appearances with Kansas City last season, allowing one run. He's posted a 6.32 ERA and 37:27 K:BB over 31.1 innings at the Triple-A level in 2024.

McMillon (forearm) is scheduled to make a relief appearance in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Mariners, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. McMillon will likely cover an inning Wednesday in what will mark his spring debut. The hard-throwing righty has been eased along during spring training while he works his way back from a forearm strain, but assuming he escapes Wednesday's outing free of setbacks, he should be on track to win a spot in the Royals' Opening Day bullpen. McMillon was impressive over a small sample of big-league action in 2023, striking out eight and allowing one earned run on one hit and no walks over four innings.

McMillon (forearm) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. McMillon has yet to make his Cactus League debut, but now that he's facing hitters again, he doesn't seem to be far from getting in his first game action of spring training. The 26-year-old right-hander reached the big leagues for the first time last August and struck out eight over four innings of one-run ball out of the Kansas City bullpen before he was shut down for the season with a right forearm strain.
