The Giants optioned Warren to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Warren made three appearances with the Giants after being recalled from Triple-A on Sept. 6. Over that span, he allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two across 4.2 innings. The move makes room on San Francisco's 28-man roster for the reinstatement of Jordan Hicks (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list.

Warren made his lone major-league appearance Aug. 28 against the Brewers, during which he pitched two scoreless innings while allowing one walk and one hit. Across 23 outings in Triple-A this season, Warren has a 4.91 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 22 innings. After signing with the Giants in February, he has recovered and spent the 2024 campaign with Triple-A Sacramento, where he has a 4.95 ERA overall. However, the 28-year-old has not allowed an earned run in his last eight outings and boasts a 1.54 ERA since July 14. In a corresponding move, Jordan Hicks was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
