Xavier Isaac 1B | TB
Rays' Xavier Isaac: Back on IL
Double-A Montgomery placed Isaac on the 7-day injured list July 6 with an undisclosed injury.
This is Isaac's second injured list stint of the year, as he missed the first two weeks of the season with an elbow injury. He also missed almost two weeks in early May with an undisclosed injury but he didn't land on the IL that time. Isaac most recently played June 25 and it seems the elbow injury he suffered in spring training may be affecting his play as well as his availability this season. He's slashing .201/.366/.446 with nine home runs, a 29.7 percent strikeout rate and a 19.4 percent walk rate in 41 games for the Biscuits.

Ty France 1B | SD
Twins' Ty France: Fading into part-time role
France is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.
The right-handed-hitting France will head to the bench for the third time in the Twins' last four matchups with right-handed pitchers, as the left-handed-hitting Kody Clemens gets the nod at first base with righty Colin Rea on the hill for the Cubs. Clemens and France could be part of a loose platoon moving forward, though neither player has been especially productive in recent weeks. Dating back to June 20, France has delivered a .563 OPS, while Clemens has posted a .640 OPS over that same timeframe.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Keeps raking
Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Rockies.
Gonzalez extended his hit streak to nine games Wednesday, swatting his third home run of that stretch. He's logged an extra-base hit in seven of those nine outings and has totaled 11 RBI and 10 runs scored during that span. On the year, Gonzalez is slashing .338/.372/.603 -- each of which would be a career-best marks.

Abraham Toro 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Abraham Toro: Stepping out of lineup Wednesday
Toro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Toro will head to the bench for the first time since June 29, ending a stretch of eight consecutive starts during which he went 9-for-31 (.290 average) with a 4:4 BB:K. Romy Gonzalez will get the nod at first base Wednesday, but Toro still appears to be viewed as the Red Sox's preferred option at the position.

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Sitting versus southpaw
O'Hearn is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
The lefty-swinging O'Hearn doesn't always sit out versus left-handed pitching, but he'll begin Wednesday's contest on the bench as the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the bump. Coby Mayo will cover first base and bat eighth for the Orioles.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Yankees' Paul Goldschmidt: Racks up three hits in victory
Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBI in a 10-3 win against Seattle on Tuesday.
Goldschmidt scored New York's first run of the game in the fifth inning and stroked a two-run single in the seventh. He notched his fourth multi-hit performance over his past five contests, a span during which he's batting .391 with five doubles. The hot stretch comes on the heels of a rough 1-for-23 stretch to end the month of June. On the season, Goldschmidt is slashing .290/.349/.435 with eight homers, 34 RBI, 54 runs and five stolen bases over 347 plate appearances.

Tim Elko 1B | CHW
White Sox's Tim Elko: Back in big leagues
The White Sox recalled Elko from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. He'll start at first base and bat seventh in the White Sox's series finale versus the Blue Jays.
Elko has struggled during his big-league chances thus far, putting up a .601 OPS and 38.1 percent strikeout rate over 63 plate appearances. The right-handed-hitting Elko could be a regular part of the White Sox lineup against left-handed pitching, but his opportunities to start versus righties could be more limited.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Belts 11th homer
Aranda went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Tigers.
The 27-year-old took Jack Flaherty deep in the first inning, Aranda's 11th homer on the season. He's showing no signs of slowing down in a breakout campaign with the All-Star break approaching, slashing .333/.370/.506 over his last 22 games with six doubles, three home runs, 12 runs and 12 RBI.

Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Extends hit streak
Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-2 win over Colorado.
Gonzalez continued a roll that's seen him hit safely in eight straight starts, including five with multiple knocks. He's gone 16-for-34 (.471) with five doubles, two triples, two home runs and 10 RBI during the streak. Gonzalez mashes lefties, as evidenced by his .412/.461/.750 slash line across 76 plate appearances against them this season. His multi-position eligibility makes him an attractive asset for fantasy benches.
