Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Knocks in two vs. St. Louis
Rizzo went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
Rizzo delivered an RBI single to kick off the scoring in the first inning and plated a run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth. He's batting .279 with two home runs and 13 RBI through 26 games in September and hopes to carry that success over into the postseason.

Chris Shaw 1B | CHW
Giants' Chris Shaw: Absent from Friday's lineup
Shaw is out of the lineup against the Dodgers on Friday, Kerry Crowley of the Bay Area News Group reports.
Shaw will head to the bench with left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu on the mound for Los Angeles. In his place, the right-handed hitting Austin Slater will man left field and bat seventh.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Phillies' Carlos Santana: Homers, doubles in losing effort
Santana went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Thursday's loss against the Rockies.
Santana tried to spark a rally with a two-run homer in the eighth inning, but the Phillies ended up falling short in the 5-3 loss. It's been another consistently productive season for Santana, as he carries a .228/.351/.417 slash line with 28 doubles, 24 home runs and 85 RBI to go along with an impressive 107:91 BB:K ratio.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Braves' Freddie Freeman: Heads to bench
Freeman is not in the lineup Thursday against the Mets.
The Braves have already clinched a playoff berth, so Freeman will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off following 19 straight starts. The first baseman slashed .319/.370/.472 with two homers, two stolen bases and 12 RBI over that stretch. Ryan Flaherty is starting at first base and hitting eighth in place of Freeman.

Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Phillies' Asdrubal Cabrera: Not starting Wednesday
Cabrera is out of the starting nine versus the Rockies on Wednesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Cabrera will remain on the bench for a fifth straight game while Scott Kingery gets another start at shortstop. At this point, it looks like the club is just trying to give more playing time to Kingery with its postseason hopes dashed.

Josh Bell DH | MIN
Pirates' Josh Bell: On bench vs. left-hander
Bell is out of the lineup versus the Cubs on Wednesday.
Bell will take a seat with southpaw Jose Quintana on the bump for the Cubs. In his place, Jose Osuna will start at first base and bat third in the order. Bell may remain on the bench for the series finale Thursday with lefty Jon Lester set to pitch.

Chris Shaw 1B | CHW
Giants' Chris Shaw: Sits against lefty
Shaw is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Padres, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Shaw will take a seat Tuesday as manager Bruce Bochy stacks right-handed hitters against lefty Robbie Erlin. The rookie is hitting .208/.304/.313 through 19 games with the Giants since earning a promotion at the beginning of September. Austin Slater will start in left field and hit second in his place.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Done for season
Walker (nose) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
It was originally thought the Walker was dealing with a deep bruise after being struck by a pitch during his eighth-inning at-bat in Monday's loss, but further tests revealed a sinus fracture. The 27-year-old hit just .163/.226/.388 with three homers in 37 games with the Diamondbacks this year.

Asdrubal Cabrera 1B | CIN
Phillies' Asdrubal Cabrera: Sits again Tuesday
Cabrera is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Cabrera will stick on the bench for a fourth straight game as Scott Kingery picks up another start at shortstop in his stead. It's unclear if the veteran infielder is dealing with an injury -- he missed time last week with a calf injury -- or if the Phillies are simply looking to give the younger Kingery some opportunities over the final week of the season with the team out of playoff contention.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Diagnosed with deep bruise
Walker was diagnosed with a deep bruise near his nose after being struck by a pitch during his eighth-inning at-bat in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Dodgers, the Associated Press reports.
Walker drew the start at first base and hit cleanup with Paul Goldschmidt resting in the series opener, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before exiting after the hit by pitch. Manager Torey Lovullo relayed afterwards that Walker was sent in for a CT scan, which indicated the 27-year-old avoided any facial fractures. While it sounds like Walker avoided a major scare, it wouldn't be surprising if he were held out of action for the Diamondbacks' final five games of 2018 for precautionary reasons.
