Marlins' Justin Bour: Returns to lineup

Bour is back in the lineup, playing first base and batting fifth, against Atlanta on Tuesday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Bour was held out of the starting lineup the last two games but he's back out there for the start of a two game series with Atlanta. The 28-year-old has been crushing lately, homering twice with five runs and eight RBI over his last six games.

  • Joey Votto 1B | TOR

Reds' Joey Votto: Out of Tuesday's lineup against Rangers

Votto is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game with the Rangers, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Votto will cede the start at first base to Adam Duvall. In his absence Duvall will bat fifth. Duvall usually starts in left field, but today the Reds will go with an outfield combination of Jose Peraza, Billy Hamilton, and Jay Bruce instead while Votto gets some rest. Votto is on a five-game hitting streak, going 8-of-22 in that timespan.

  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

    Marlins' Justin Bour: Out Monday

Bour is out of the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

This is the second day off in a row for Bour, likely to improve the hitting matchups as Colorado starts left-handed pitcher Jorge De La Rosa. Righty Chris Johnson will get the start in his place, but Bour should be back for Tuesday's contest against Bud Norris and the Braves.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: First day off since April

Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies, according to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert.

Goldschmidt is rolling right now with at least one hit in 13 straight games, but he had not had a day off since April 17, and manager Chip Hale decided that Monday was an opportune time to give Goldschmidt his first day off in over two months. With Goldschmidt opening Monday's game on the bench, Phil Gosselin will get the start at first base.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Drives in three in win over Pirates

Rizzo went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a pair of runs scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

The Cubs offense ran rampant Sunday, hanging 10 runs on Pittsburgh despite promising rookie Jameson Taillon starting the contest, and Rizzo got the party started with an RBI single in the first before launching a solo homer in the sixth. He rounded off his night with another RBI single an inning later, raising his average to .272, which is his highest mark in over a month.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Stays hot Sunday with four-hit day

Freeman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Mets.

He's now collected at least three hits in five of his last seven games while racking up three home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored, pushing his batting average in June to .358 (24-for-67) with a .701 SLG. Not coincidentally, the Braves have won five straight games during Freeman's hot streak as they finally have some offense to support their pitching staff. He'll get a day off Monday before Atlanta finishes their road trip with a two-game set in Miami.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Smacks two-run homer in Saturday victory

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Phillies.

The veteran slugger is feasting on Phillies pitching in the series, now hitting .500 (5-for-10) with a double, two homers and three RBI. He's enjoying a banner June overall, and has raised his average 21 points since May 31.

  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

Marlins' Justin Bour: Out of Sunday's lineup

Bour is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rockies, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Bour was at the forefront of the Marlins' 9-6 victory Saturday, going 2-for-3 with his 11th homer of the season and a pair of runs and RBI, but he'll take a day off Sunday with a lefty in Tyler Anderson on the mound for the Rockies. Chris Johnson replaces Bour at first base.

  • Mets' Wilmer Flores: Back in action Saturday

Flores (wrist) is back in the lineup Saturday, hitting sixth and playing third base against the Braves.

He was out of the lineup for two games due to the wrist ailment and the Mets are happy to have him back, as they are without starting corner infielders David Wright and Lucas Duda, both of whom are on the DL. Flores offers modest offensive potential in the short term and could be useful in deep leagues.

  • Tommy Joseph 1B | TEX

Phillies' Tommy Joseph: Not in Saturday's lineup

Joseph is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks, Stephen Gross of the Morning Call reports.

Joseph will get a day off as he has started each of the last nine games at first base. Ryan Howard will start in his place Saturday, batting fourth. With Zack Greinke opposing the Phillies on the mound, manager Pete Mackanin is stacking the lineup with left-handed hitters.
