Gurriel started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Yankees.

This was Gurriel's eighth consecutive start and 15th in the last 20 games at third base. As the Astros confront injuries to Carlos Correa (ribs) and Aledmys Diaz (hamstring), Gurriel has been soaking up time at the hot corner while primary starter Alex Bregman covers shortstop. The 35-year-old corner infielder hasn't hit like a one, posting a .694 OPS over 70 games.

Cron went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in an 8-7 win over the Royals on Friday.

The first baseman extended his hitting streak to six games with the second-inning blast. Cron is now slashing .306/.368/.548 in June as he marches toward a career-best campaign, and on the season he's slugged 16 homers and 48 RBI in 67 games.

Beaty went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-2 win over the Rockies.

Beaty, who was recalled earlier in the day from a brief stay with Triple-A Oklahoma City, played the hero by taking Rockies reliever Jairo Diaz deep for the game-winning homer. The rookie is hitting .300/.323/.450 through 24 games, adding two homers and 11 RBI.

Santana went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Friday night against the Tigers.

Santana kicked off the scoring in this one with a two-run blast to center field, marking his 16th long ball of the 2019 campaign. The 33-year-old has now homered in back-to-back contests, driving in three over that stretch. Santana is slashing .295/.417/.538 with 46 RBI through 74 contests.

Hoskins went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk in Friday's loss to the Marlins.

Hoskins registered a pair of extra-base hits, but he was unable to help his team to victory Friday evening in a low-scoring affair. After going 0-for-8 over his last two contests, Hoskins appeared to be seeing the ball well at the plate in the series opener.

Dixon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 7-6 loss to Cleveland.

Dixon hit his ninth home run of the season off Trevor Bauer in the second inning. The 27-year-old has been a nice find for Detroit, as he's posting a solid .812 OPS through 144 at-bats and has settled into an everyday role.

Beaty was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Friday's game against Colorado, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. He's starting at first base and will bat sixth.

Beaty was sent to Triple-A on Thursday, but he's back in the major leagues after Josh Sborz was moved to the 10-day injured list with back soreness. Beaty is slashing .286/.310/.393 with a home run and nine RBI over 23 contests with the Dodgers this season.

Tellez is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Red Sox.

Tellez started the last nine games but will take a seat Friday with southpaw Chris Sale on the mound for Boston. Billy McKinney will start at first base while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. serves as the designated hitter.

Cooper (triceps) is not in the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper left Thursday's game with left triceps tightness after sitting out the previous game with the same injury. Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports that he isn't expected to land on the injured list. Yadiel Rivera starts at first base in his absence.

Cabrera received a four-game suspension from Major League Baseball for his actions in Thursday's game against the Indians, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. He is appealing the suspension and in the starting lineup Friday versus the White Sox.

Cabrera was ejected from Thursday's contest for throwing some equipment in the direction of an umpire after striking out, and he is now facing additional discipline from the league. The 33-year-old can continue to play until a verdict on his appeal is reached.
