Olson went 1-for-2 with an RBI single, three walks and two runs in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Several of his teammates did it in more spectacular fashion, but Olson had his fair share of contributions in the Athletics' jaw-dropping 21-run outburst. The multiple walks were a rarity for Olson, who'd last accomplished the feat on Aug. 3 and had only done it on eight occasions overall this season. Olson's on-base percentage for September is up to a whopping .406 following Thursday's performance, as he's now reached safely in eight straight games.

Abreu (infection) remains out of the lineup Friday against the Cubs.

Abreu has been out since Tuesday after being hospitalized with an infection on his right thigh. He was released from the hospital Wednesday but is not yet ready to return to the field. Matt Davidson will start at first base in his absence.

Voit went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Red Sox.

Voit took Eduardo Rodriguez deep in the second inning to record his 11th home run of the season and third in the past two games. He has exhibited an abundance of power since being dealt to the Yankees in late July, blasting 10 home runs in two months of action. As a result, he has become an everyday player and has been a reliable option in the later portions of the season.

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-8 win over the Rays.

Tellez got the scoring started with a two-run shot in the second inning before knocking an RBI double to start Toronto's incredible ninth-inning rally. Now with 40 career plate appearances, the rookie left-hander owns an 1.144 OPS with nine RBI.

Abreu returned to the team prior to Thursday's game but is still unavailable to play while recovering from an infection in his right thigh, Daryl Van Schouwen of The Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Van Schouwen added that Abreu was walking a little gingerly, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise after the first baseman was released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Initially the club was hopeful that Abreu would be able to return for Friday's series opener against the Cubs, but that seems overly optimistic barring significant improvement. Expect him to require a few more days off.

Flores has been diagnosed with early-onset arthritis in both knees and has been shut down for the remainder of the season, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

It turns out the knee issues that have plagued Flores recently will end his season prematurely. Manager Mickey Callaway added that he isn't sure what the diagnoses means for the 27-year-old's future. Flores will finish the season with a .267/.319/.417 line, 11 homers and 52 RBI through 126 games.

O'Hearn is out of the lineup against the Tigers on Thursday.

O'Hearn will receive a day off following six straight starts as Hunter Dozier gets the nod at first base for the series opener with a left-hander (Matt Boyd) on the mound. Since joining the big-league team in late July, O'Hearn has slashed .272/.372/.632 with 11 home runs and 27 RBI in 38 games.

Cabrera (calf) will start at shortstop and bat third against Atlanta on Thursday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Cabrera will return to the lineup for the series opener of a massive four-game set against the Braves after being withheld from the starting nine the past two games with a left calf injury. During 15 games this month, he's hit .245/.327/.469 with two home runs and seven RBI.

Cron went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple, a walk and a run in a win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Cron's first three-bagger of the campaign brought home Matt Duffy to extend the Rays' lead to 8-1 in the fourth. The 28-year-old is hitting just .222 in September despite Wednesday's production, but a career-high 27 home runs has helped him establish a new high-water mark in slugging percentage (.485). Moreover, he's now just five RBI away from eclipsing the career-best 69 he compiled in 2016.

Shaw started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Padres.

Shaw made his fourth consecutive start, and second against a southpaw. The Giants are finally giving their young slugger a consistent look in left field after benching him in nine of the 14 games since his callup Aug. 31. Shaw is still slashing just .229/.300/.371 over 40 plate appearances in the majors, but his strong power output in the minors (24 homers and .505 slugging percentage) could generate some cheap pop in daily and deep formats.
