X-rays on Cabrera's injured right ankle came back negative Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera was hit by a pitch on his right ankle during Sunday's game but was fortunate to avoid a serious injury. He's simply dealing with a bruised ankle and will be a day-to-day case moving forward.

Cabrera exited Sunday's game against the Reds after being hit by a pitch on his right ankle, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera entered the game as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning but was removed from the contest after taking a pitch off his right ankle. The veteran infielder appeared to be in pain but was able to walk off the field under his own power. We'll await word from the Mets with regard to the specifics of his injury following Sunday's contest.

Walker's contract was selected from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Walker dazzled with Reno this season, as he hit .309/.382/.597 with 32 home runs and 114 RBI. However, it remains to be seen if his power will translate to the majors due to the Pacific Coast League being rather hitter-friendly. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks placed Randall Delgado on the 60-day disabled list.

Gurriel is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Gurriel will sit out for the second time in the past three games. The first baseman missed four games with a knee injury last week, but he was able to return on Monday and has gone 3-for-19 during his past five starts following his injury. Marwin Gonzalez will draw the start at first base and bat sixth in his stead.

Cooper (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day disabled list Saturday and subsequently optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Cooper was placed on the disabled list in mid-August with left hamstring tendinitis. After completing his rehab assignment, he'll join the Triple-A squad for the time being, surely with his sights set on rejoining the Yankees later in the regular season.

Joseph is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.

For the third consecutive game, Joseph is being withheld from the starting lineup. Maikel Franco will start at first base and hit fifth in the order with Joseph out.

Cabrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds.

Matt Reynolds will start at third base and hit eighth with Cabrera out of the lineup. Cabrera was been dealing with some back issues recently, but there's yet to be any word that his absence from the lineup is injury related.

Hoskins went 1-for-2 with a home run, a steal, three walks and two RBI on Saturday against the Nationals.

Hoskins crushed his 14th home run of the season to tie the game at one in the second inning of a game the Phillies would go on to win. His incredible assault upon major-league pitching continues, as he's slashing .308/.433/.750.

Olson went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's win over Houston in the second game of a doubleheader.

This was Olson's fifth home run in September, and he's now up to 16 homers, 32 RBI and 23 runs with a .267/.344/.610 slash line over 45 games in the majors this year. His power upside is unquestioned, but Olson also sports a 28.2 strikeout percentage, and he could slow down as coaches and pitchers get more video on him at the highest level. Still, he's currently moving the fantasy needle in the majority of settings and is worth a look in daily contests when Oakland lands in a favorable matchup.

Abreu hit for cycle Saturday, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and his 29th home run of the season in a 13-1 win.

Abreu capped off the achievement in the most difficult fashion with a lumbering triple in the eighth inning. The performance gives him his third big blast in his first seven September games. If the consistent masher picks up the pace in the final month, he could generate a fourth straight 100-RBI season to start his career.
