  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Sitting out Game 1 of twin bill

Hoskins is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Mets, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Before Saturday's game was postponed due to inclement weather, Hoskins was scheduled to sit for only the second time this season. Even after the postponement, Hoskins will still get a game off, but expect him to rejoin the lineup for the second game of the twin bill. Johan Camargo will fill in at first base in Game 1 in Hoskins' stead.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Laces three doubles Saturday

Freeman went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs scored in a 7-0 win over the Cubs during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

He also went 1-for-4 with a walk in the nightcap as the Dodgers completed the sweep. Freeman's power production is down a little from his usual standards as he has only three homers and 12 RBI through 25 games, but he's otherwise been exactly as advertised in his first season on the West Coast with a .316/.400/.516 slash line.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Launches home run, scores thrice

Bell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two additional runs during Saturday's 7-3 victory against the Angels.

Bell opened the scoring with a solo shot in the first inning, walked and scored in the fourth and singled and scored in the fifth. This is Bell's third instance reaching base three times in six games this month and he's still slashing a robust .351/.452/.546, all of which rank top 12 in MLB.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Tossed against Padres

Cooper was ejected in the eighth inning of Saturday's against the Padres for arguing balls and strikes, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cooper had gone 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI prior to being tossed. Miguel Rojas shifted to first base and Joey Wendle entered the game at shortstop in Cooper's absence.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: On bench for Game 2

Naylor isn't starting the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

Naylor started at first base in Saturday's matinee and went 1-for-3. However, he'll get a breather for the second game of the twin bill while Owen Miller returns to first base with Ernie Clement entering the lineup at the hot corner.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Remains on bench for nightcap

Rivas will remain on the bench for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Rivas was on the bench against southpaw Clayton Kershaw in the first game of the day and will remain there against Tyler Anderson in the nightcap. Frank Schwindel remains the starter at first base.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not starting Saturday

Wade will sit Saturday against St. Louis, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wade returned from a knee injury to make his season debut Friday against righty Jordan Hicks, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout. With lefty Steven Matz on the mound Saturday, he'll retreat to the bench, with Mike Yastrzemski shifting to right field and Austin Slater starting in center.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: On bench Saturday

Hoskins isn't starting Saturday against the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Hoskins has gone 0-for-7 with two walks and four strikeouts over the last two games, and he'll be out of the lineup for the first time since April 13. Johan Camargo will start at first base and bat eighth.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Takes seat against southpaw

Rivas isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Rivas led off in the last three games and went 1-for-9 with a run, two walks and six strikeouts. Frank Schwindel will shift to first base while Yan Gomes serves as the designated hitter against left-hander Clayton Kershaw in Saturday's matinee.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Hitting eighth, starting at 1B

Kirilloff is starting at first base and batting eighth Saturday against the Athletics.

He was activated Friday but was left on the bench against a lefty. He slots into the bottom third of the lineup against righty James Kaprielian. It seems that Kirilloff will have to earn both a prominent spot in the lineup and opportunities against same-handed pitching.
