Twins' Cole Irvin: Claimed by Minnesota
The Minnesota Twins claimed Cole Irvin off waivers from the Orioles on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.Irvin remained in the Baltimore organization after being designated for assignment back in late July, but he did not pass through waivers this time around. The left-hander offers the Twins the versatility to be used as a starter or reliever, but he'll probably be bound for the bullpen after having not started a game since August. Irvin will officially join the Twins' 28-man active roster Tuesday.

Orioles' Cole Irvin: Pushed off 40-man roster
The Baltimore Orioles designated Cole Irvin for assignment Sunday.Baltimore has now DFA'd Irvin for the second time this season. The Orioles previously made the transaction in late July, with the lefty ultimately clearing waivers and sticking around in the organization. He received the call back to Baltimore on Aug. 20, and Irvin made four appearances (two starts) during his latest stint in the majors while logging a 4.97 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB in 12.2 innings. Right-hander Jacob Webb (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list to take Irvin's spot in the bullpen and on the 28-man active roster.
