The Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization signed Irvin to a one-year, $1 million contract Friday, Jee-ho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports. The $1 million price tag is the maximum allowable contract for a first-year foreign player. Irvin, who turns 31 in January, has collected a 4.54 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across parts of six major-league seasons. He held a 5.11 ERA over 111 innings between the Orioles and Twins in 2024.

The Twins designated Irvin for assignment Wednesday. Irvin allowed five earned runs over just 3.2 innings during his brief time with the Twins, and he's now been DFA'd by two teams within the last 10 days. The left-hander carries a 5.11 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 111 innings on the year and would not be eligible for the postseason if a contender claims him.

The Twins claimed Irvin off waivers from the Orioles on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Irvin remained in the Baltimore organization after being designated for assignment back in late July, but he did not pass through waivers this time around. The left-hander offers the Twins the versatility to be used as a starter or reliever, but he'll probably be bound for the bullpen after having not started a game since August. Irvin will officially join the Twins' 28-man active roster Tuesday.

The Orioles designated Irvin for assignment Sunday. Baltimore has now DFA'd Irvin for the second time this season. The Orioles previously made the transaction in late July, with the lefty ultimately clearing waivers and sticking around in the organization. He received the call back to Baltimore on Aug. 20, and Irvin made four appearances (two starts) during his latest stint in the majors while logging a 4.97 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB in 12.2 innings. Right-hander Jacob Webb (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list to take Irvin's spot in the bullpen and on the 28-man active roster.

Irvin allowed a run on two hits and struck out two without walking a batter over three innings to earn the save in Monday's 13-3 win over the White Sox. Irvin started last Tuesday, going 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers. Zach Eflin's return from a shoulder injury may have taken Irvin out of the rotation for now, but it's possible the 30-year-old southpaw gets a start this weekend against the Rays if Dean Kremer (forearm) isn't ready to go. Operating as a swingman in 2024, Irvin has a 4.74 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 73:25 K:BB over 106.1 innings while adding a 6-5 record, one save and one hold over 24 appearances (16 starts).
