Manager Robin Ventura confirmed that Beckham might be available. He's been out with a thumb injury. Beckham is hitting .325/.347/.428 in 166 at-bats.

Elvis Andrus returns to former spot in lineup
Rangers manager Ron Washington said Thursday shortstop Elvis Andrus is back as the team's primary No. 2 hitter. Washington said Andrus has worked himself back into that spot in the lineup, according to FOX Sports Southwest.
Andrus has hit safely in his last six games, batting .333 (7 for 21) with two stolen bases in that span.

Jose Altuve swats fourth home run
Astros second baseman Jose Altuve homered Wednesday afternoon in a loss to Oakland. Altuve went deep for the fourth time this season in the fourth inning for a solo blast off starter A.J. Griffin.
The No. 2 hitter in the Houston lineup finished the game 2 for 4 and is batting .282 on the year.
Altuve, who is 23 years of age, has driven in a run in four of the six games in which the Astros have played since the All-Star break. He has 32 RBI on the season.

Gordon Beckham out of the lineup, DL status to be determined
White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham remains out of the lineup Wednesday with a thumb injury, CSN Chicago reports.
Beckham hit soft toss before Wednesday's game and said he felt improvement but both player and club aren't ready yet to determine whether or not he will need a trip to the disabled list. He will test the thumb again Thursday, at which time the decision is likely to be made. Beckham last played July 20.

The second baseman missed a second straight start Tuesday after he aggravated the surgically-repaired left wrist. He's batting .325/.347/.428 in 166 at-bats.

With the bases loaded in the top of the second inning, Franklin took a Jordan Lyles fastball out to right field for the hit. He finished the game 2 for 6. Franklin is hitting .268/.330/.458 in 168 at-bats.

White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham is expected to miss a few days with a sore left wrist, reports MLB.com. Beckham was not in the lineup Sunday against the Braves.
Beckham is batting .357 (20 for 56) with a double, triple, two home runs and six RBI in 14 July games.
