Solarte is not in the lineup against Seattle on Friday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Solarte will take a seat for just the second time since the All-Star break as Aledmys Diaz draws the start at shortstop. Dating back to the start of the second half, Solarte is hitting just .188 with a .507 OPS and five RBI in 13 games. Look for him to return to the lineup Saturday.

Kemp is out of the lineup against the Dodgers on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Kemp will retreat to the bench with southpaw Alex Wood on the mound. Since the beginning of July, Kemp is hitting .264/.381/.415 with two home runs, eight RBI and four stolen bases. Jake Marisnick will draw a start in the outfield during the series opener.

Andrus went 3-for-6 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Andrus joined in the Rangers' offensive barrage Thursday, extending his hitting streak to 13 games. In that span, he has gone 21-for-52 with 10 RBI and 12 runs scored. That run has driven Andrus' batting average up to .284, it's highest mark since June 19.

Sweeney was designated for assignment prior to Thursday's matchup against Seattle, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

Sweeney went 0-for-2 with two walks in one game since being called up to the Blue Jays on Tuesday. He'll head to the waiver wire to make room for the additions of Ken Giles and Mike Hauschild.

Biggio went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and five RBI for Double-A New Hampshire in its 14-3 victory Wednesday over Richmond.

It's the first multi-homer game as a professional for Biggio, whose 23 long balls tie Akron's Bradley Bradley for tops in the Eastern League. Biggio is also pacing the circuit with a .397 on-base percentage following the graduation of teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Triple-A Syracuse, with a whopping 19.3 percent walk rate buoying the second baseman in that category. It likely won't be long until Biggio joins Guerrero at Syracuse in search of a stiffer challenge.

Beckham was sent to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

After being designated for assignment Monday, Beckham cleared waivers and he'll head back to Triple-A. Through 70 games for the Rainiers in 2018, he's slashing .305/.406/.469 with eight homers and 38 RBI.

Semien went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Semien opened the new month wielding the same hot bat he finished July with, as Wednesday's tally marked his third straight two-hit effort. The 27-year-old continues to inch his season average upward, and his current .259 figure qualifies as his highest since June 10.

Barreto went 3-for-4 with a two-run double and solo home run in a win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Barreto helped the Athletics pile on in the sixth with a timely two-bagger that plated Marcus Semien and Jonathan Lucroy to extend the Oakland lead to 7-0. He then closed out the scoring on the afternoon with a 399-foot solo shot to left, his fourth round tripper of the season and first at the big-league level since June 22. Barreto has been frequently shuttled between Triple-A Nashville and the big-league club this season, with his current stint a result of Chad Pinder's placement on the disabled list with the lacerated elbow he suffered in a car accident last Saturday.

Merrifield is not in the lineup against the White Sox on Thursday.

Merrifield will receive a rare day off -- his first since June 24 -- while Adalberto Mondesi gets a nod at the keystone. Since that day off in June, he's hit .336/.389/.454 with nine RBI and seven stolen bases in his last 29 games. Look for Merrifield to rejoin the starting lineup in Minnesota on Friday.

Kemp hit leadoff and went 1-for-5 in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Mariners.

Kemp got the rare call to hit leadoff with George Springer getting the day off to rest an ailing shoulder. With Springer expected back Friday, Kemp will return to his bottom-of-the-order status.
