  • Gavin Lux 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Out against left-hander

Lux is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Left-hander Max Fried is on the bump for Atlanta, so the left-handed-hitting Lux will begin the game on the bench. Enrique Hernandez will start at second base for the Dodgers in the series finale.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Aiming to return this weekend

Albies (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment Tuesday and return from the 10-day injured list for Atlanta's series in Miami this weekend, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

At last check, Albies was still struggling to swing the bat from the left side of the plate due to soreness in his fractured left wrist. It's not clear whether the switch hitter has progressed in that regard or is considering returning only as a right-handed hitter. Albies will be the everyday second baseman when he returns, pushing Whit Merrifield to third base, left field or a bench role.

  • Nick Yorke 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Yorke: Headed to big leagues

The Pirates will select Yorke's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Acquired from the Red Sox for Quinn Priester at the trade deadline, Yorke has slashed .303/.385/.449 with 12 home runs and 21 stolen bases between the Double- and Triple-A level this season. The 22-year-old is primarily a second baseman, but he also has a bit of experience at third base, shortstop and all three outfield spots. Yorke should play pretty often for Pittsburgh down the stretch.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Reaches base five times

Turang went 3-for-4 with two walks, three runs scored and a steal in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Turang posted his fourth game this month with multiple hits and just his fifth game of the season with multiple walks. He's now reached base eight times over the last two games and has swiped a bag in each game as well. Turang continues to lead off against righties despite just a .217 average and .279 OBP since July 1. For the year, he's hitting .259/.322/.360 with 34 extra-base hits, 53 RBI, 69 runs, 43 steals and a 47:99 BB:K in 571 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Donovan Walton: Pops homer in loss

Walton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Walton's sixth-inning homer was his first hit in three games the major-league level this year. He's received an opportunity to play in the middle infield while Tyler Fitzgerald (back) has been sidelined. The 30-year-old Walton slashed an impressive .303/.377/.438 with seven home runs, 51 RBI, 53 runs scored and four stolen bases over 99 games as Triple-A Sacramento prior to his call-up.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Posts steal in Sunday's win

Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Rockies.

Hoerner logged his fifth multi-hit effort over 12 contests in September. He's gone 15-for-49 (.306) with two steals and four doubles in that span. The second baseman is up to 29 thefts on the year -- he's well off the pace that saw him log 43 steals last year, but he's still been among the better speed options in the majors. Hoerner has added a .262/.327/.353 slash line with five home runs, 43 RBI, 77 runs scored, 32 doubles and one triple across 139 games.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | SF

Giants' Brett Wisely: Starting at shortstop

Wisely will start at shortstop for Sunday's game against the Padres.

The lefty-hitting Wisely often sits against southpaws like the Padres' (Martin Perez), but Wisely will stick in the lineup at shortstop while Tyler Fitzgerald (back) takes a seat due to injury. Donovan Walton will fill Wisely's usual spot at the keystone.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Dealing with hamstring tightness

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs due to right hamstring tightness, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

The injury will cost Rodgers a second straight start, but the Rockies don't seem to believe he's at risk of landing on the 10-day injured list. In fact, Lyons relays that the second baseman could be back in the lineup as soon as Monday's game against the Diamondbacks. Over the final two weeks of the season, the Rockies will play nine of their 12 games at hitter-friendly Coors Field, making Rodgers a more appealing fantasy option than usual if he's able to shake off the hamstring injury.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Not starting Sunday

Stott is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Mets.

Stott went 1-for-8 with one run scored over the first two games of the series, and he will begin Sunday's game in the dugout. Buddy Kennedy will start at second base and bat eighth against Mets left-hander David Peterson.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Slugs 10th homer

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over San Francisco.

Bogaerts jumped on a hanging sweeper from Mason Black in the top of the fourth and sent it into the stands for his 10th home run of the campaign and his third in September. The shortstop has now hit safely and driven in a run in three consecutive games, though he's still batting just .238 (10-for-42) this month with eight RBI and five runs scored. Bogaerts also has just two multi-hit games since Aug. 23.
