Jose Iglesias SS | SD
Padres' Jose Iglesias: On bench for third straight vs. RHP
Iglesias is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Iglesias will hit the bench while Jake Cronenworth shifts over from shortstop to make his first start at shortstop since the 2022 season. With Xander Bogaerts (foot) out indefinitely, the Padres could prioritize offense over defense by phasing out Iglesias and leaning more heavily on Cronenworth and Luis Arraez in the middle infield, which would open up a regular spot in the lineup for the hot-hitting Gavin Sheets. Iglesias had already sat out the Padres' previous two matchups against right-handed starters, though San Diego went with Mason McCoy rather than Cronenworth at shortstop in both of those contests.

Hye Seong Kim 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Third straight start vs. RHP
Kim will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Orioles.
After being activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kim came off the bench for the ensuing two contests, but he's now started in three straight games with right-handers on the mound for the opposition. The rookie could end up holding down a strong-side platoon role at the keystone until Tommy Edman (ankle) returns from the IL.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Out of Saturday's lineup
Edwards isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.
The switch-hitting Edwards carries a .588 OPS against southpaws on the year, so he'll retreat to the dugout Saturday against left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Maximo Acosta will get the nod at second base instead while batting ninth.

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Goes deep in win
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, two RBI and two total runs scored in Friday's 11-5 win over the Nationals.
Hoerner tallied his fifth multi-hit performance in his last 10 games as the Chicago infielder stayed hot at the plate. While not known for his power, the 28-year-old has also gone deep twice during this 10-game stretch after hitting only four home runs in his previous 125 games.
