Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Heads to bench
Donovan is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Donovan went 3-for-12 with a walk and two RBI while starting each of the past three games at different positions, but he'll put a six-game hitting streak on hold while he retreats to the bench for the series finale. Though he no longer has a hold on a full-time role at any position, Donovan's ability to play all over the infield and outfield should allow to continue to see semi-regular work, especially while he's wielding a hot bat.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Leg injury remains bothersome
India was removed from Wednesday's loss to the Phillies with left lower-leg soreness, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
India missed three games after he originally suffered the injury during the Field of Dreams Game against the Cubs on Aug. 11, and he's apparently not fully past the issue nearly two weeks later. The 25-year-old went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI prior to leaving Wednesday's contest, and manager David Bell said the leg is sometimes "throbbing and really hurting" by the end of the game. India doesn't appear to have suffered a setback and should be considered day-to-day, and the team is likely to remain cautious with the second baseman as he continues to manage the injury.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Reaches base three times
Rodgers went 2-for-3 with a double Wednesday against the Rangers.
Rodgers continued his productive homestand, as he now has seven hits in 21 at-bats across five games. Though he hasn't gone yard in that span, he does have three doubles and two RBI. The majority of Rodgers' production has come at Coors Field, but he has a 101 wRC+ and .334 wOBA across 480 plate appearances overall for the campaign.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Records three hits in win
Hoerner went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Cardinals.
Hoerner was mired in an 0-for-25 slump entering Wednesday, though this was also his fourth three-hit effort in August. All told, the shortstop is batting .278 this month and .291 for the season. The 0-for-25 stretch seems like an outlier for Hoerner, who has shown a good ability to hit for contact early in his MLB career. The 25-year-old should continue to see regular playing time for the Cubs and could be primed for a big stretch run if he can string together a few more multi-hit games.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Remains out of lineup
Lux (neck) isn't starting Wednesday against the Brewers, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
Lux was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to a neck injury and will be out of the starting nine for a second consecutive game. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but he'll have an additional day to recover since the Dodgers have a scheduled day off Thursday. Max Muncy is shifting to second base while Justin Turner starts at the hot corner Wednesday.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Pirates' Michael Chavis: Sits after three straight starts
Chavis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Chavis went 3-for-11 with a solo home run and an additional run while starting each of the past three games at first base, but he'll likely be limited to a short-side platoon role at the position with the lefty-hitting Bligh Madris moving forward. Neither Madris nor Chavis will man first base in Wednesday's series finale, however, as Josh VanMeter will draw a rare start.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Managing neck issue
Lux was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Milwaukee due to a neck injury, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The injury isn't expected to necessitate a trip to the injured list, but Lux will be held out of the lineup until at least Friday's series opener in Miami. Chris Taylor and Hanser Alberto are the likely fill-in options at second base for Los Angeles.

Gavin Lux SS | TB
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Scratched from Tuesday's lineup
Lux was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Brewers for unspecified reasons.
The 24-year-old was penciled in to start at second base Tuesday against Milwaukee but was removed from the lineup without explanation. It's unclear if Lux is dealing with an injury or if manager Dave Roberts simply opted for a lineup change.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Enters Tuesday's lineup
Estrada was added to Tuesday's lineup after Brandon Belt (knee) was scratched, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Estrada was initially set to be a bench bat Tuesday, but now he'll play second base and bat sixth against the Tigers.

Bryson Stott 2B | PHI
Phillies' Bryson Stott: On bench Tuesday
Stott isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
It appears to be a regular day off for Stott, who's posted an impressive .319/.347/.464 slash line in 18 games this month. Edmundo Sosa is starting at shortstop Tuesday.
