  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Mets' Luis Guillorme: Back from IL

The Mets activated Guillorme (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The infielder returns after missing a month with a strained left hamstring. Javier Baez and Francisco Lindor's returns will restrict Guillorme to a bench role despite his impressive .293/.406/.345 slash line in 139 plate appearances this season. He takes the roster spot of Brandon Drury, whom the Mets optioned Tuesday.

  • Michael Chavis 2B | CIN

Pirates' Michael Chavis: Goes on IL

Chavis was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow strain, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Chavis will miss the first week of September, if not longer, after exiting Saturday's game with the elbow injury. The infielder had gotten off to a hot start with his new team, going 8-for-22 with a home run, two doubles and two RBI in six games. Hoy Park was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to share the playing time at second base with Cole Tucker and Wilmer Difo until Chavis returns.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Not starting Tuesday

Rojas is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Padres.

Rojas will sit for the second time in four games after walking and scoring a run in Monday's series opener. Andrew Young is set to start at second base and bat sixth.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Sitting Tuesday

Rodgers is not starting Tuesday against the Rangers.

The infielder is in the midst of a 2-for-17 funk, so he'll get a chance to reset as he sits against right-hander Jordan Lyles. Garrett Hampson is set to man the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Clears bases

Marte went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Padres.

Prior to Marte's blast, the Diamondbacks floundered on offense and in the field, which prompted a lecture from manager Torey Lovullo. The manager doesn't need to lecture Marte, whose homer extended his hit streak to 11 games, during which he's 15-for-40 (.375) with four home runs, three doubles and 12 RBI. Going back further, he's reached base safely in 19 consecutive contests.

  • Taylor Motter 2B | STL

Rockies' Taylor Motter: Cast off 40-man roster

Motter was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Motter's contract was selected by the Rockies on Aug. 10, and he served as utility depth with the big-league club. He hit .150 with two runs, two walks and six strikeouts across 13 appearances in the majors and will be removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Raimel Tapia (toe), who was reinstated from the injured list Monday.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Massive day at High-A

Gonzales went 4-for-7 with three home runs, eight RBI and an additional run Sunday for High-A Greensboro in its 19-11 win over Asheville.

Gonzales got off to a slow start to his professional career, but the 22-year-old has looked the part of a top-10 draft pick over the past month and a half. Dating back to July 16, Gonzales is slashing .361/.424/.639 with 23 extra-base hits and a 23.3 percent strikeout rate in 36 games.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

    Brewers' Luis Urias: Homers Sunday

Urias went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Urias opened up the scoring for the Brewers with a solo home run to left in the second inning. It was his second homer over his last four games and he's managed a hit in nine of his last 12 games. Urias is slashing .244/.334/.440 with 18 long balls, 58 RBI, 64 runs scored, five steals and 48:94 BB:K over 456 plate appearances and figures to hold a near everyday role for at least the next week while Eduardo Escobar (hamstring) remains out.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Clocks 23rd home run

Albies went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-0 win over San Francisco.

Albies doubled and scored in the seventh inning before tacking on a solo shot in the eighth. It was his 23rd long ball of the year and first since Aug. 14. Over the previous 11 games, the switch-hitting infielder had just two extra-base hits with a .580 OPS. Factoring in Sunday's production, Albies owns a .260/.318/.487 slash line with 83 runs scored and 63 extra-base hits.

  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Offensive slide continues

Garcia went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Sunday's 9-4 loss to the Mets.

Garcia closed the weekend with back-to-back hitless games, dropping his average to .211 in August. Though the 21-year-old is viewed as a cornerstone in the Nationals' middle infield for years to come and is locked into an everyday role, he's not yet producing enough to warrant interest outside of NL-only leagues.
