Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Provides double in losing effort

Marte went 2-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Giants.

It's been a rather slow August for Marte, who turned in just his fourth multi-performance in 22 games this month. While he's still hitting a palatable .257 on the month, the infielder isn't contributing much in the way of counting stats with only one home run, one steal, three RBI and nine runs over that stretch. Fantasy owners in shallower leagues looking for a boost in the middle infield could probably explore other options at second base or shortstop on the waiver wire without much regret.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: On base four times in win over Rays

Albies went 3-for-3 with a walk, a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Rays.

His second-half slump has dropped Albies to the seventh spot in the Braves' batting order, but it looks like he might be coming out of it -- the 21-year-old is hitting .286 (10-for-35) over his last 10 games. Tuesday's double was his first extra-base hit since Aug. 12. Albies has already well exceeded expectations, but a big September would put a cherry on top of his impressive first full big-league campaign.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Reaches base four times

Hernandez started in right field and went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a pair of runs scored in a win over Texas on Tuesday.

Hernandez has now started three of the Dodgers' past four contests, going a combined 7-for-12 over that stretch. Two of those starts have come at the expense of Yasiel Puig, who is currently mired in an offensive slump. The Dodgers are unlikely to give up on their enigmatic right fielder so quickly, but Hernandez could gain an extra start here and there if their recent hitting trends continue.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Back in action Tuesday

McNeil (quad) is starting Tuesday against the Cubs.

McNeil left Sunday's game against the Nationals with quad tightness and did not start Monday. The injury was evidently not a serious one, as he appeared off the bench Monday and will be active from the start of the game Tuesday.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Hot bat stays in lineup Tuesday

Frazier will start at second base and bat second Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Not only is he batting .354 since late July, but Frazier is also the only Pirate batter with a modicum of success against Tuesday's starter, Jack Flaherty. Frazier is 3-for-5 with a double and a walk versus Flaherty. Starting second baseman Josh Harrison (hamstring) has passed through waivers and could be traded before the end of August, so more playing time could open up for Frazier in September.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Officially promoted for big-league debut

Urias was officially promoted as expected Tuesday.

Urias will bat second and play second base in his major-league debut. The 21-year-old profiles as a long-term top-of-the-order bat with excellent contact ability. His initial fantasy contributions will likely be limited to the batting-average category, as he hit just eight homers and stole just two bases over the course of a full season with Triple-A El Paso. Still, the fact that he reached the majors at age 21 after hitting .296/.398/.447 as the youngest qualified hitter in the Pacific Coast League is a strong indicator of his future potential. Carlos Asuaje was optioned to El Paso in a corresponding move.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Swipes 16th bag

Rosario went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Cubs.

Rosario handed the Mets a two-run lead in the second inning on an RBI single to center field, but the Cubs would come out on top in the series opener. The 22-year-old shortstop has put together a decent month of August thus far, batting .265 with three home runs and 15 RBI through 24 games. He owns a .244/.285/.367 slash line through 124 contests this season.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Headed to majors Tuesday

The Padres will promote Urias from Triple-A El Paso ahead of Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

One of the top position prospects in a deep Padres farm system, Urias will head to the majors after hitting .296/.398/.447 with eight home runs, 83 runs and 45 RBI in 120 games as the youngest qualified hitter in the Pacific Coast League. He's expected to fill a full-time role in the middle infield for the Padres over the final month of the season, mixing in at both second base and shortstop. The 21-year-old may slot near the bottom of the order initially, but he profiles as a top-of-the-lineup candidate in the long term.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Heads to bench

Marte is not in the lineup Monday against the Giants.

Marte will give way to Daniel Descalso at the keystone for Monday's series opener after starting all three games against the Mariners over the weekend, going 2-for-10 with a double and two walks in those appearances.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Expected back Tuesday

McNeil (quad) is available off the bench Monday and is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

McNeil left Sunday's game against the Nationals with a tight right quad and isn't starting Monday, but the injury is evidently not a serious one. That's good news for the Mets, as the second baseman is riding an 11-game hitting streak, hitting .475 over that stretch.
