Padres scratch Yangervis Solarte from Thursday's lineup
Padres infielder Yangervis Solarte was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup against the Giants.
Solarte was likely scratched due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Wednesday's contest. As a result, Cory Spangenberg will replace him at third base.

Danny Espinosa 2B | NYM
Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa to miss rest of season
Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa (hamstring) is done for the season, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Mark Zuckerman reports.
It will require four weeks of rehab for Espinosa to be able to return from the slight tear of his hamsting, so his season is over.
It will be interesting to see what his role is in 2016 with Ian Desmond likely leaving in free agency and Trea Turner and Wilmer Difo seemingly ready to step into significant roles in the middle infield. Espinosa had a .753 OPS against lefties and a .709 OPS against righties while playing above average defense this season.

Padres 3B Yangervis Solarte leaves game with hamstring injury
Padres third baseman Yangervis Solarte left Wednesday's game with a right hamstring injury, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Solarte collected two hits and two RBI in Wednesday's game before exiting the contest. The extent of his setback is uncertain, so it remains to been seen if he will be available for the Padres' next game Thursday.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Diamondbacks 3B Brandon Drury hits first home run of career Tuesday
Diamondbacks third baseman Brandon Drury went 2 for 4 with his first major league home run, a three-run shot, Tuesday in a win over the Dodgers.
Drury started for the second consecutive game and has posted a .303/.343/.455 line in 35 plate appearances since being called up at the start of September. His power potential has always been the big question mark about him for fantasy and he posted just five home runs in the minors this year.
He may get to compete for either the second or third base job in spring training next year, but the D-Backs would probably have to clear out some of the veterans ahead of him in order for him to make the club.

Nationals' Danny Espinosa out hamstring tear; return uncertain
Nationals infielder Danny Espinosa has a small tear in his hamstring, Chelsea James of the Washington Post reports.
Manager Matt Williams did not declare how long Espinosa might be out, but that type of injury could impact his availability for remainder of the season. If Espinosa does indeed miss some time, Trea Turner could see a few spot starts down the stretch.

Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa diagnosed with strained hamstring
Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa is dealing with a strained hamstring, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
As such, Espinosa is not in Monday's lineup, and he'll undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the ailment. It appears as though the Nationals are expecting Espinosa to miss at least a few games, and further details will emerge following Tuesday's evaluation.

Phillies give Darnell Sweeney night off on Friday vs. Braves
Phillies infielder/outfielder Darnell Sweeney is not in the lineup Friday against the Braves.
Sweeney has seen most of his work in left field, but has recently transitioned over to second with Cesar Hernandez out for the season. Andres Blanco will get the start at the keystone Friday, while Aaron Altherr will shift over to left field.

Giants place 2B Joe Panik on 60-day DL
Giants infielder Joe Panik (back) was placed on the 60-day DL on Wednesday, John Shea of The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Manager Bruce Bochy had suggested Panik's season was likely over following his latest setback, but this roster move makes it official.
It's a tough way for his sophomore season to end, but Panik turned in strong production when on the field, batting .312/.378/.455 with eight homers and 37 RBI. Kelby Tomlinson will remain the starting second baseman the rest of the way.

Giants INF Kelby Tomlison continues to see bulk of playing time
With Joe Panik (back) likely being shut down for the season, Giants infielder Kelby Tomlinson will see regular playing time down the stretch.
Tomlinson has done a nice job in Panik's stead, slashing .295/.351/.410 in 105 at-bats. He can provide help in both the batting average and stolen base departments down the stretch.

Jake Lamb 1B | SF
Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb held out of the lineup on Tuesday
Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.
This is a bit surprising to see, considering the Diamondbacks are facing a right-hander in Tyson Ross and Lamb went 2-for-4 with a double in Monday's loss. However, it seems manager Chip Hale simply wants to get Brandon Drury involved with a start at third base -- his last start came back on Sept. 5 -- as there has been no word of an injury to Lamb.
