Hernandez isn't in Friday's starting lineup against the Nationals.

Hernandez has collected just two hits in his last 17 at-bats, so he'll get the night off to regroup. Chris Taylor gets the nod at the keystone and will hit seventh.

Edwards went 3-for-4 with two walks, a stolen base and a run for Low-A Fort Wayne on Thursday, Bill Center of Padres.com reports.

The three-hit day raises Edwards' average to .370 over 100 at-bats for Fort Wayne. He's also flashing impressive plate discipline with a 10:13 K:BB that leaves him with a .440 on-base percentage, which has helped him rack up 11 stolen bases. While he's off to a great start at the dish when it comes to making contact, he has no homers and just 13 extra-base hits in his first 259 professional at-bats.

Solarte was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday but elected to become a free agent instead, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Solarte went unclaimed on the waiver wire after being designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday, so he'll hit the open market. He produced a .205/.247/.315 slash line with a homer and seven RBI across 28 games with San Francisco this season.

Drury isn't starting Friday's game against the White Sox.

Drury is in line for two consecutive days off after the team benefitted from a scheduled off day Thursday. Toronto will shift Randal Grichuk to right field, allowing for Jonathan Davis, who was just called up from Triple-A Buffalo, to get the start in center.

Rodgers is slashing .339/.409/.603 with seven homers and 18 RBI for Triple-A Albuquerque through 121 at-bats.

Rodgers is the most highly rated prospect in the Rockies' system and he's been mashing Triple-A pitching so far this season. The duo of Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson has struggled to produce offensively at second base to this point for Colorado, so it could only be a matter of time before the club feels compelled to give the 22-year-old Rodgers a look at the big-league level. If they do, Hampson is a candidate to get optioned back to Albuquerque, as he's slashing just .186/.211/.267 over 86 at-bats.

Marte is not in the lineup Thursday against the Braves.

Marte has started the past 14 games for Arizona, slashing .269/.406/.635 with five homers, a stolen base and an 11:9 BB:K over that stretch. With the 25-year-old Marte situated on the bench Thursday, Wilmer Flores is starting at the keystone and hitting sixth.

Double-A Akron activated Clement (oblique) from its 7-day injured list Thursday.

Clement had been sidelined since April 15 with the oblique injury but should slot back into an everyday role at shortstop for Akron now that he's overcome the issue. Clement spent time at Akron, High-A Lynchburg and Low-A Lake County in 2018, slashing .289/.358/.375 between the three levels.

Castro will start at second base and bat sixth Thursday against the Angels, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Castro has recorded just two hits in 12 at-bats since being promoted to the Tigers, but his defensive versatility will earn him his fourth start in the last five games. The 25-year-old saw his first two starts in the outfield, but he'll likely see most of his action in the middle infield moving forward with Christin Stewart (hamstring) healthy again and Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) joining Josh Harrison (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list.

Rodriguez will start at first base and bat fifth Thursday against the Angels, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez will draw his third start of the season at first base with the Tigers deploying Miguel Cabrera at designated hitter in the day game after the night game. Even when Cabrera resumes his usual duties at first base, Rodriguez seems likely to stick in the lineup at one of the two middle-infield spots for the foreseeable future with Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) joining Josh Harrison (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Thursday. Rodriguez has already capitalized on the opportunity afforded to him by Harrison's absence with five multi-hit performances over his last seven starts.

Beckham will start at shortstop and bat seventh Thursday against the Angels, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Beckham will draw a second straight start at shortstop after the Tigers placed their primary option at the position, Jordy Mercer, back on the 10-day injured list Thursday. While Mercer and Josh Harrison (shoulder) are both sidelined, steady playing time in the middle infield should be available for both Beckham and Ronny Rodriguez. However, with Harrison expected to return from the IL in short order, Beckham may quickly slip back into a reserve role.
