Tena (thumb) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
Tena was removed from Sunday's game after being struck in the right hand by a grounder and will require an additional day of rest due to an issue with the fingernail of his right thumb. He should be considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas will start at third base Tuesday.

Nationals' Andres Chaparro: Officially added to roster
The Nationals selected Chaparro's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Acquired from the Diamondbacks in the Dylan Floro trade, Chaparro is receiving his first major-league promotion after slashing .328/.405/.572 with 23 home runs over 105 games in 2024 at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old is expected to play regularly while alternating with Juan Yepez at first base and designated hitter. Chaparro is starting at first base and batting sixth Tuesday in Baltimore in his major-league debut.

Mets' Mark Vientos: Sitting again Tuesday
Vientos (ankle) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The 24-year-old was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup against the Mariners due to left ankle soreness, and he'll sit for a second consecutive game Tuesday. According to Laura Albanese of Newsday, Vientos is expected to be available off the bench and should rejoin the lineup Wednesday. Jose Iglesias will receive a start at third base and bat seventh.

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Resting Tuesday
Marte is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
After making 10 consecutive starts at third base, Marte will get the night off Tuesday. In his place, Santiago Espinal will play third and bat ninth. Marte is slashing .179/.218/.299 across 142 plate appearances this season.

Padres' Manny Machado: Resting Monday
Machado is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Pirates, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Machado will begin the series in the dugout after going 3-for-14 with two doubles and four RBI in the Padres' three-game weekend series against the Marlins. Since the All-Star break, Machado is slashing .274/.311/.536 with five home runs and 16 RBI across 100 plate appearances. Donovan Solano will man the hot corner and bat fifth against Pittsburgh right-hander Joe Musgrove.

Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Posts three-hit day
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.
Hernandez posted his second three-hit game this month. He came up big in the 10th with a leadoff double to tie the game before eventually coming around to score the winning run. Over his last nine games, Hernandez is slashing .333/.405/.545 with seven RBI, six runs and a 4:4 BB:K. He's reached base safely in all but one game over that span. For the year, the 32-year-old is slashing .214/.281/.338 with seven homers, 26 RBI, 30 runs and a 25:63 BB:K in 292 plate appearances.

Solano went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 loss to Miami.
Pinch hitting for Jake Cronenworth with one out in the eighth inning, Solano came up clutch and launched a two-run homer off Andrew Nardi to bring the Padres within one run. The long ball was Solano's fifth of the year -- a milestone he had reached just twice in his first 10 MLB seasons. In 212 plate appearances, Solano is slashing .313/.363/.436.

Marlins' Jake Burger: Stays hot at plate
Burger went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two additional runs scored during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Padres.
Burger generated multiple hits for the fourth time in five games and went yard in a third consecutive contest. The 28-year-old has belted nine homers in 13 games, totaling 14 RBI and 12 runs while batting .358 (19-for-53) during that stretch. Burger is up to 22 homers this season and has a .768 OPS.

Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Swats homer
Ortiz went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Reds.
Ortiz got the scoring started Sunday, tagging Nick Lodolo for a two-run homer in the second inning. The long ball was Ortiz's eighth of the season, and the third baseman appears to finally be breaking out of his slump, going 9-for-24 with four extra-base hits during his last six games.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Drives in three
Chapman went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.
Chapman had a two-run single in the first and an RBI single in the sixth to produce the Giants' first three runs. The third baseman was held hitless in the first two games versus the Tigers, but he's still batting .325 (13-for-40) with four home runs and 12 RBI over 10 games in August. For the season, he's up to a .249/.338/.450 slash line with 19 homers, 60 RBI, 81 runs scored, 30 doubles, one triple and 12 stolen bases over 117 contests.
