Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Starting up rehab Tuesday
Phillies interim manager Rob Thomson said Segura (finger) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Segura is coming along quicker than expected in his recovery from his early June surgery to repair a fractured right index finger, a procedure that was expected to keep him sidelined for 10-to-12 weeks. Though initial projections called for Segura to remain out until mid-August or early September, he now looks like he could be ready to go when first eligible to return from the 60-day injured list Aug. 2. The Phillies will wait and see how Segura looks during his rehab stint at Lehigh Valley over the next few days before re-evaluating his situation early next week.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Resting Monday
Moustakas is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Marlins.
Moustakas will take a seat after he went 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Jonathan India will take over at designated hitter while Donovan Solano slots in at second base and bats sixth against Miami.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Hits 20th double
Machado went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Mets.
Machado picked up his first multi-hit effort since July 14, which included an RBI double that sparked a three-run rally in the ninth inning. He's up to 20 two-baggers this season, reaching that mark for the seventh time in the last eight years -- the 60-game 2020 season being the lone exception. The third baseman is slashing .303/.376/.517 with 16 home runs, 54 RBI, 58 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 86 contests as a steady presence in the heart of the Padres' order.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Mets' Eduardo Escobar: Not starting Sunday
Escobar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Escobar is 0-for-8 with three strikeouts in the first two games out of the All-Star break, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Luis Guillorme will man the hot corner and bat eighth for New York.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Lands on injured list
Longoria (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
The veteran third baseman sustained the hamstring strain during Saturday's contest and will be out for at least the next 10 days. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Longoria doesn't expect to face a lengthy absence, and more clarity about his return timeline should come after undergoing an MRI on Monday.

Willians Astudillo 3B | MIA
Marlins' Willians Astudillo: Rejoins Miami, starting Sunday
Asudillo had his contract selected by the Marlins and will start at third base and bat eighth Sunday against the Pirates, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The 30-year-old was designated for assignment and outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville by Miami in late June, but he'll rejoin the big-league club Sunday with Brian Anderson (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Astudillo has a .270/.289/.351 slash line with one home run, four RBI and five runs in 17 games this year for the Marlins.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Out with shoulder sprain
Anderson was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a sprained left shoulder, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
The 29-year-old underwent an MRI after suffering the injury on an attempted dive Saturday, and he'll be forced to miss some time with a sprain. Anderson had two separate stints on the IL last year due to issues with the same shoulder, and it's unclear how long he's expected to be out this time. Joey Wendle should see more playing time against left-handed pitching while Anderson is sidelined, and Luke Williams should also have an increased role.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Can't travel to Toronto
Arenado, who is starting at third base Sunday against the Reds, won't be able to travel with the Cardinals for the two-game series versus the Blue Jays this week due to his vaccination status, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Arenado is 5-for-10 with three doubles and a run in the first two games of the second half and can add to that production Sunday, but he won't be able to join the team in Toronto on Tuesday since he's apparently unvaccinated. Paul Goldschmidt cannot travel for the same reason, so the Cardinals will be missing their two best players for the two-game set versus the Blue Jays. The pair will be moved to the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Not in Sunday's lineup
McMahon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Milwaukee.
McMahon is 0-for-10 with six strikeouts in the first two games out of the All-Star break, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's contest. Garrett Hampson will handle starting duties at third base against Brewers lefty Eric Lauer.
