Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Added to Arizona roster
The Diamondbacks recalled Rivera from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Rivera was playing at the Triple-A level when he was acquired from the Royals on Monday, but he will get a chance to show what he can do with his new club immediately. Josh Rojas has been playing third base nearly every day since mid-May, so it remains to be seen how much playing time Rivera will see there.

Victor Manuel Acosta 3B | CIN
Reds' Victor Acosta: Dealt to Reds for Drury
Acosta was traded from the Padres to the Reds on Tuesday in exchange for Brandon Drury, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Acosta was one of the top international signees in the 2020-21 signing class. The switch-hitting shortstop has a high ceiling, but he is still working on putting the pieces together. He is hitting .243/.346/.360 with two home runs and five steals in 32 games in the Arizona Complex League.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Dealt to Giants
The Giants acquired Davis and minor-league pitchers Thomas Szapucki, Nick Zwack and Carson Seymour from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for first baseman/designated hitter Darin Ruf, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Davis had been serving as a short-side platoon option at designated hitter for the Mets, and he'll likely fill a similar role in San Francisco now that he's swapping teams with Ruf. The righty-hitting Davis owns a .775 OPS against left-handed pitching for his career.

Eduardo Escobar 3B | TOR
Mets' Eduardo Escobar: Held out Tuesday
Escobar is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
Escobar is mired in a 5-for-19 (.172) slump, so he will be held out in favor of Luis Guillorme for the fourth time in eight games. Guillorme has not fared well at the plate lately, either, but he could continue eating into Escobar's playing time if Escobar is unable to get back on track.

Mike Moustakas 3B | CHW
Reds' Mike Moustakas: Sits versus lefty
Moustakas is on the bench Tuesday against the Marlins.
With a lefty (Braxton Garrett) on the mound for Miami once again, Moustakas remains on the bench. The 33-year-old has gone just 2-for-15 with a home run and six strikeouts in six games after the All-Star break. Donovan Solano is the designated hitter Tuesday.

Jordan Groshans 3B | ATL
Marlins' Jordan Groshans: Traded to Miami for relievers
Groshans was traded from the Blue Jays to the Marlins on Tuesday in exchange for Anthony Bass and Zach Pop, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
This was something of a make-or-break year for Groshans to maintain his prospect stock, and so far he has come up short. A 22-year-old shortstop who could also end up at third base, Groshans has hit .250/.348/.296 with one home run in 279 plate appearances at Triple-A. His plate skills are very strong, but despite standing a muscular 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Groshans has been unable to tap into impact game power thus far.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Phillies' Jean Segura: Won't be activated Tuesday
Segura (finger) will continue his rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday and won't be activated from the 60-day injured list until Wednesday at the earliest, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Segura will start at second base and bat leadoff Tuesday in what will be his seventh rehab game for Lehigh Valley. Though Segura seems to be fully recovered from the surgery he underwent in early June to repair a fractured right index finger, the Phillies may want to see him get comfortable at the plate before activating him. Through his first six rehab games, Segura has gone 4-for-22 (.182 average) with four walks against six strikeouts.

Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Diamondbacks' Emmanuel Rivera: Expected to join MLB roster
Arizona general manager Mike Hazen said Rivera is expected to report to the major-league club, but the logistics of that have yet to be determined, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Rivera gives the lefty-heavy Diamondbacks a right-handed hitter that will likely "see a lot of starts against lefties," either at third base or designated hitter, according to the general manager. Rivera has hit well at Triple-A -- a combined .291 average with 22 home runs over 330 at-bats in 2021 and 2022 -- but is batting just .243 with seven home runs over 288 at-bats in the majors. The minor-league numbers are inflated, given that his home park in Omaha is beneficial for right-handed batters.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Knocks 10th homer
Muncy went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Monday's 8-2 win over the Giants.
Muncy gave the Dodgers the lead in the second inning, and they never looked back. The homer was his first since the All-Star break and his 10th of the year. The infielder is slashing .162/.312/.314 with 34 RBI, 41 runs scored and two stolen bases through 343 plate appearances.
