  • Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN

Pirates' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Cranks three-run homer

Hayes went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during a 12-6 loss to the Phillies on Thursday.

Hayes added an exclamation point to a five-run second with a three-run shot off Philadelphia starter Aaron Nola, though the third baseman failed to produce in his other at-bats. The former top prospect has been hot of late, going 7-for-19 with three extra-base hits over his last four games, though the home run was his first since Aug. 8.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Goes yard in third straight game

Riley went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Arizona.

Riley went deep for the third consecutive game when he connected off Madison Bumgarner in the third inning, extending Atlanta's lead to 3-0. It was Riley's 32nd long ball of the year and drew him to within three RBI of the century mark. He's hitting .359 (14-39) during a nine-game hitting streak, and he's driven in eight runs over his last four contests.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Blasts 35th homer

Muncy went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Rockies.

Muncy took southpaw Lucas Gilbreath yard in the 10th inning to provide the game-winning runs for the Dodgers. Muncy continued his strong performance without the handedness advantage this season, as he now has 11 home runs and entered the contest with a 158 wRC+ against lefties. Overall this season, he has 35 home runs and has maintained a .250/.369/.536 line across 558 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Manny Machado: Gets breather Thursday

Machado isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Machado recorded multi-hit performances in each of the last four games and went 9-for-18 with two homers, six runs and three RBI across that span. He'll get a rare day off while Ha-Seong Kim starts at the hot corner and bats seventh.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

    Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Starting Thursday

Arenado (back) is starting Thursday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Arenado exited Wednesday's contest with lower-back tightness, but he'll start at the hot corner and bat fourth Thursday. He has three multi-hit performances in his last four games, and he's gone 6-for-13 with a homer, a double, four RBI and three runs during that time.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Homers again in win

Riley went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 9-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Riley went yard in the third inning off Merrill Kelly for his 31st home run of the year and his second in as many games. The 24-year has made a late case for himself in the National League MVP race, as he's slashing .330/.364/.544 with nine homers, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored and 7:48 BB:K in 45 games since the trade deadline passed. Riley now needs just five more RBI to become the first Atlanta third baseman to have a 30-double, 30-homer and 100-RBI season since Chipper Jones in 2001.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Battling back tightness

Arenado was removed from Wednesday's game at Milwaukee with lower-back tightness, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Arenado went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI before being lifted during the fifth inning with the injury. The 30-year-old should be considered day-to-day ahead of the team's series finale with the Brewers on Thursday.

  • Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Drives in two, hit by two pitches

Wisdom went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a stolen base Tuesday in the Cubs' 9-5 loss to the Twins. He was also struck by two pitches.

Wisdom's sky-high strikeout rate (40.3 percent) and modest walk rate (8.2 percent) have limited him to an unimpressive .308 on-base percentage on the season, but he did his part to raise that mark by reaching base three times. He'll remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale, batting third and starting at third base.

  • Matt Duffy 3B | TEX

Cubs' Matt Duffy: Supplants Bote at second base

Duffy will start at second base and bat fifth Wednesday against the Twins.

Duffy will stick in the lineup for the seventh straight game, with five of those starts coming at second base. At this point, Duffy looks entrenched as the Cubs' preferred option at the keystone ahead of David Bote, who will sit for the fifth time in six contests.

  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

Nationals' Carter Kieboom: Returns to lineup

Kieboom (thumb) is starting Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Kieboom was held out of Tuesday's game due to a jammed thumb, but he'll start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's series finale against Miami. He's gone 0-for-9 with a run, three walks and two strikeouts across his last three appearances.
