Reds' Noelvi Marte: Healing better than expected

Marte (oblique) had a scheduled follow-up MRI moved up one week after the Reds' medical staff was pleased with his progress since being placed on the injured list May 7, MLB.com reports.

Marte's checkup MRI has now been moved from June 4 to May 27. The results of the MRI should determine whether Marte is able to begin resuming baseball activities.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Slugs 14th long ball

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three total RBI against the Rockies in a loss Saturday.

Suarez hit a run-scoring single in the first inning, belted a solo homer to left field in the fourth and notched a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The veteran third baseman has racked up three RBI in each of his past three contests and now has driven in 37 runs this season, tied for fourth most in the majors. Suarez is also tied with teammate Corbin Carroll with 14 home runs and is well ahead of pace to finish with 30-plus long balls for the sixth time in his career.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Cubs' Jon Berti: Sitting out Saturday

Berti isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Berti has gone 0-for-16 with six strikeouts across his last five games. He'll get a chance to regroup Saturday while Vidal Brujan starts at third base and bats ninth.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | SEA

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Drives in three in win

Suarez went 1-for-3 with three RBI in Friday's 8-0 win over Colorado.

Suarez brought home a run on a sacrifice fly in the third inning and then had a two-run single in the seventh. It was the second straight game with three RBI for Suarez, who has three home runs and 11 RBI over the last seven contests. The batting average (.213) isn't pretty, but Suarez has delivered for Arizona with runners in scoring position (1.151 OPS). He's tied with Geraldo Perdomo for the team lead with 34 RBI.

  • Eric Wagaman 1B | MIN

Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Three-hit attack in rout

Wagaman went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored in Friday's 9-4 win over the Rays.

Wagaman logged three hits for the third time this season, also tallying multiple knocks for the seventh time in 2025. Through 45 at-bats in May, the infielder is hitting .222 with three doubles, one triple, four RBI and two runs scored. Wagaman has consistently hit in the heart of Miami's batting order this year, but the lack of talent around him should continue to restrict his overall fantasy potential.

  • Connor Norby 2B | MIA

Marlins' Connor Norby: Three RBI in multi-hit effort

Norby went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Friday's 9-4 win over the Rays.

Norby tied a season high in RBI and recorded his third two-hit game in his last six outings. Over his last 16 contests, the third baseman is hitting .276 (16-for-58) with two homers, four doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored. Norby hit third in Miami's batting order Friday for the third time this season, which is a move that would enhance his RBI upside if it sticks going forward.

  • Aaron Schunk 3B | ATL

Rockies' Aaron Schunk: Activated from IL

The Rockies reinstated Schunk (groin) from the injured list Friday.

Schunk went 4-for-14 with a homer and two RBI in four games at Triple-A Albuquerque while working his way back from a groin strain he suffered in late April. The 27-year-old had been starting regularly at shortstop for Colorado before getting hurt, but he's now likely to come off the bench more often with Ezequiel Tovar (hip) also off the injured list.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Nationals' Amed Rosario: Recovering from laceration

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Friday that Rosario is day-to-day after he suffered a left leg laceration when he ran into a table at the team's hotel, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Rosario needed stitches to close the wound and is likely unavailable off the bench Friday in Baltimore. He had drawn three straight starts, but with Luis Garcia back from paternity leave, Rosario's playing time was set to dip even before his injury.

  • Trey Lipscomb 3B | WAS

Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Optioned to Triple-A

The Nationals optioned Lipscomb to Triple-A Rochester on Friday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Lipscomb was recalled earlier this week when Luis Garcia went on paternity leave, but Lipscomb did not make an appearance. With Garcia back in the fold, Lipscomb will go back to seeing regular reps in the minors.

  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Goes yard again Thursday

Muncy went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.

Muncy had the first of the Dodgers' five homers in the contest, putting them ahead 3-1 with the first-inning blast. He added an RBI single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the eighth. Muncy has homered in back-to-back contests, and over his last seven games, he's gone 9-for-27 (.333) with nine RBI. The third baseman's batting average is at a season-high .207 with a .664 OPS, three long balls, 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base across 41 games.
