Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Traded to San Francisco
Longoria was dealt to the Giants from the Rays in exchange for Denard Span, Christian Arroyo, Matt Krook and Stephen Woods on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The longtime Ray is set to move on from the organization that drafted him following 12 years with the club, and will immediately become the starter at the hot corner for the Giants in 2018. During this past season, Longoria slashed .261/.313/.424 with 20 home runs, 86 RBI and six stolen bases, and played in 156 games, which marked his lowest number of appearances in a season since 2012 when he dealt with a hamstring injury for most of the year. It was also the fifth straight year that Longoria hit at least 20 home runs, but he just barely got there, during the final week of the season. AT&T Park in San Francisco has been the worst park in baseball for home runs over the last four seasons.

Michael Almanzar 3B | WAS
Nationals' Michael Almanzar: Re-signs with Nationals
Almanzar agreed to a minor-league deal with Washington on Wednesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Almanzar finished up the 2017 campaign with Triple-A Syracuse within the Nationals' system, and that is likely where he will begin the 2018 season. The 27-year-old has yet to play in a major-league contest, and is unlikely to do so next year on a stacked Washington roster.

Jason Martinson 3B | TEX
Nationals' Jason Martinson: Signs with Nationals
Martinson agreed to a minor-league contract with Washington on Wednesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Martinson played in 50 games with Triple-A Round Rock within the Rangers' organization this past year, and slashed .208/.286/.361 with seven home runs and 27 RBI. Looking ahead, the 29-year-old has yet to appear in a major-league game and should remain outside of fantasy wavelengths for the foreseeable future.

Yadiel Rivera 3B | MIL
Marlins' Yadiel Rivera: Agrees to minor-league deal with Miami
Rivera signed a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Marlins on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Rivera only played in one major-league game with the Brewers this past season, and spent a majority of his time with Triple-A Colorado Springs. He slashed .218/.282/.314 with the Sky Sox during 107 games, and will likely serve as organizational infield depth for the Marlins while playing in Triple-A once again in 2018.

Ildemaro Vargas 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Undergoes surgery
Vargas underwent surgery to remove his right hamate bone in October.
Vargas will now turn his focus towards getting ready for the start of spring training. The 26-year-old hit .308/.308/.385 during his 12-game stint with Arizona last season, but doesn't figure to break camp with the big club.

Ryan McMahon 3B | NYY
Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Sees little playing time in September
McMahon went just 1-for-10 with a run scored following his September callup.
McMahon spent most of the past month on the bench with the Rockies competing for a playoff spot, but don't let that fool you. The 22-year-old is one of the top prospects in the Rockies' organization, especially after producing a 1.023 OPS in his first taste of Triple-A this year. He's knocking on the door of the big leagues heading into 2018, although playing time may be hard to come given the presence of Ian Desmond and Gerardo Parra as options for first base and Nolan Arenado locked in as the starting third baseman for the foreseeable future.

Ildemaro Vargas 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Drives in four in three-hit effort
Vargas went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and four RBI in Sunday's 14-2 win over the Royals.
Vargas didn't get his first plate appearance until the fifth inning yet still produced a tremendous line. He hit an RBI single in the fifth, then added an RBI groundout in the sixth and a two-run single in the seventh. To top off, Vargas led off the ninth inning with his first career double. The 26-year-old rookie came in with a .111/.111/.111 line through nine at-bats but raised it to .308/.308/.385 with this effort.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Out of lineup Sunday
LeMahieu is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
LeMahieu has appeared in 154 games for the Rockies this season but will find himself stationed on the bench for Game 162. Alexi Amarista will take over at second base and bat eighth in his stead.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Marlins' Brian Anderson: Notches three hits as strong debut continues
Anderson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored in the Marlins' 10-2 rout of the Braves on Saturday.
The top prospect continues to thrive in an everyday role for Miami, as he now holds a .275/.352/.388 slash line in 24 games this season. Anderson certainly has proven his worth, but with Martin Prado (knee) likely manning the hot corner again in 2018, the 24-year-old will have to make quite the case during spring training if he wants to carve out a role in the big leagues at the start of next season.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Out of Saturday's lineup
Rendon is out of Saturday's lineup against the Pirates, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
Most of the other regulars are starting in this one, but Rendon will get a chance to rest after starting the last four games and notching five hits in 14 at-bats over that stretch. Wilmer Difo gets the start at third base and will hit third.
