Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Gets a rare day off
Arenado is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.
Arenado is getting what is being described as a regular day off -- his second since the All-Star break and only his third overall of the season. Daniel Descalso will get the call at the hot corner in his stead Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Smacks two-run homer in Saturday loss
Rendon went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Nationals.
The slugging third baseman took Jake Peavy deep in the third inning with a two-out, 423-foot shot to left that plated Bryce Harper. Rendon now has a modest three-game hitting streak and four round-trippers over his last 11 games.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Drives in three Friday versus Mets
LeMahieu went 1-for-4 with three RBI in Saturday's win over the Mets.
LeMahieu did his damage with a two-run single in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the seventh. He entered the game with just five RBI in 97 at-bats this month, but made up for it by matching his season high, giving him a total of 37 for the year. LeMahieu is on pace to challenge last year's career-high RBI total of 61.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Knocks in four Friday night
Suarez went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Padres.
Suarez has had a couple of big games this week, though his overall line has been disappointing despite a big April. His walk rate is marginally up this season (7.2% after 4.3% last year), but so are his strikeouts.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Giants' Matt Duffy: Runs bases Thursday
Duffy (Achilles) ran the bases Thursday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.
He cleared a significant hurdle by running the bases -- the activity was said to have gone "really well" -- and Duffy now appears on the verge of beginning a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old could join an affiliate at some point this weekend. It's uncertain how long Duffy will need in the minors to prepare for a return, but with Joe Panik back, Hunter Pence (hamstring) nearing activation and Duffy getting close, it looks the Giants' lineup will be back at full strength early next month.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Contributes three hits in blowout of Brewers
Segura went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run in an 8-1 bashing of the Brewers on Wednesday.
That's now a nine-game hitting streak for the 26-year-old shortstop, who's delivered five hits and a walk in the first three games of this four-game set against his old Brewers mates. Segura has served as Arizona's No. 3 hitter in consecutive contests, but Jake Lamb (hand) has missed both those games; the breakout third baseman's absence from the cleanup spot has pushed Paul Goldschmidt down to No. 4 in the lineup, opening up the three-hole for Segura. Lamb shouldn't be out long, so take advantage in DFS with Segura getting at least one more game as the third hitter Thursday against the Brewers.

Cody Asche 3B | NYM
Phillies' Cody Asche: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Asche is not in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup with the Marlins, Meghan Montemurro of the News Journal reports.
Asche will get the day off in favor of right-handed hitter Tyler Goeddel with southpaw Adam Conley on the mound for Miami. Goeddel will bat sixth.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Diamondbacks' Jean Segura: Bats third and collects a hit Tuesday
Batting third for the first time this season, Segura went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.
Segura has led off all but four times this season, and in the previous three instances, he batted ninth. It remains to be seen whether the lineup change will stick, but Segura could see an uptick in RBI if he keeps batting third, though he may run a bit less if he's immediately before slugger Paul Goldschmidt.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Nationals' Anthony Rendon: Homers, drives in two against Cleveland.
Rendon homered, scored twice and knocked in two runs in a 2-for-4 game in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland.
After hitting just five home runs in 80 games last year, Rendon has 12 in 96 games in 2016. While he hasn't totally rediscovered his form from 2014, when he hit 21 homers in 153 game, Rendon is showing plus power for a second baseman, particularly of late, as he has five home runs in July alone. He is one of just 14 second basemen with double-digit home runs this season.

Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Homers, drives in two against Giants
Suarez homered as part of a 2-for-4 game with two runs scored and two RBI in Monday's win over San Francisco.
Suarez is hitting a ridiculous .375/.423/.708 with two homers, two doubles and four RBI over his past seven games. With 17 home runs, he now ranks 12th among qualified third basemen in homers, but unfortunately, power has been his only bright spot this season. His batting line sits at an underwhelming .234/.301/.414.
