  • Max Muncy 3B | LAD

Dodgers' Max Muncy: Exits with injury

Muncy was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent left knee injury, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

A stealing Michael Taylor collided with Muncy's left knee while sliding into third base, causing the latter's leg to bend awkwardly. Muncy needed to be helped off the field by a trainer after the play and will almost certainly be taken in for imaging. If the two-time All-Star ends up needing to miss any amount of time, Enrique Hernandez would likely fill in at the hot corner for the Dodgers.

  • Addison Barger SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Fills stat sheet in win

Barger went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, four RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 11-9 win over the Yankees.

Barger crushed a three-run homer in the first inning and later added an insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth. The 25-year-old has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, a stretch that includes four extra-base hits, six RBI and eight runs scored. For the season, he's slashing .263/.325/.493 with 10 home runs, 30 RBI, 33 runs scored and two steals across 229 plate appearances.

  • Max Schuemann 2B | NYY

Athletics' Max Schuemann: Launches second homer of 2025

Schuemann went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay.

It's the second time this season that Schuemann has recorded three hits in a game, which was highlighted by his solo homer off Ryan Pepiot in the second frame. Schuemann has started in just 11 games since the beginning of June, but he could see some additional playing time in the short term if Luis Urias (hamstring) and Jacob Wilson (hamstring) remain sidelined.

  • Ramon Urias 3B | STL

Orioles' Ramon Urias: Drawing fifth straight start

Urias will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Urias will cover third base for the fifth consecutive game while Jordan Westburg remains on the bench as he continues to recover from a left index finger sprain. Westburg is hopeful to rejoin the lineup for the Orioles' series in Atlanta this weekend, but Urias could still see steady playing time if Baltimore elects to use Westburg as a designated hitter to aid in his recovery.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Taking seat Wednesday

House isn't in the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Detroit, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

House will grab a seat in the dugout for Wednesday's nightcap after going 1-for-4 with two strikeouts during an 11-2 loss in Game 1. Paul DeJong will pick up a start at the hot corner as a result and bat sixth.

  • Mark Vientos DH | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Not playing Game 2

Vientos is not in the Mets' starting lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

Vientos will take a seat after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the first game of the twin bill. Francisco Lindor will serve as the designated hitter while Ronny Mauricio starts at shortstop in the nightcap.

  • Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU

Astros' Luis Guillorme: Placed on injured list

The Astros placed Guillorme on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right hamstring strain, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Guillorme has struggled since joining the big club in mid-June, going just 3-for-20 at the plate across 12 games. He'll now be forced to miss at least the next 10 days while his hamstring heals, and the Astros will bring up Zack Short to fill the open spot in the infield unit.

  • Caleb Durbin 3B | BOS

Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Idle for nightcap

Durbin is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Mets.

Durbin didn't start in the Brewers' 7-2 win earlier the day either, though he drew a walk during his pinch-hit appearance. Anthony Seigler will make another start at the hot corner and bat seventh in the nightcap.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Held out of lineup again

Westburg (finger) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Westburg will miss out on a fifth straight start due to a left index finger sprain. The infielder has conceded that his finger is unlikely to heal without extended rest, but his intention is to get the digit feeling well enough to play through a bit of discomfort. He will try to return to the lineup Friday in Atlanta following the Orioles' scheduled off day Thursday. Ramon Urias will receive another start at the hot corner for the Orioles in Wednesday's series finale.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Sent to minors amid struggles

The Rangers optioned Jung to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Jung slashed just .158/.208/.221 in June to drop his season batting line to .237/.283/.366. The Rangers will let him work on his swing in a less pressurized environment, with the goal of Jung regaining his job as the primary third baseman later this season. Super-utility player Josh Smith as well as Ezequiel Duran are the best bets to receive playing time at third base while Jung is in the minors.
