Yankees' Josh Donaldson: On bench for afternoon game

Donaldson will sit for the first of Tuesday's two games against the Rangers.

Longoria was struck on the hand by a ball Sunday against the Diamondbacks and underwent an X-ray that revealed a fractured thumb. He'll be unavailable for the Giants' final three regular-season games, and it seems likely that he'll require several weeks of rest during the offseason. If he shows signs of progress over the offseason, there is still a chance he could make the Mariners' big-league roster in 2023.
