  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Takes seat Wednesday

Grandal is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Even though Grandal served as the White Sox's designated hitter the past two games rather than starting behind the plate, he'll still receive a maintenance day Wednesday. Grandal's move to the bench may also have something to do with his ongoing slump at the plate; over his last six games, he's gone 1-for-24 with 11 strikeouts and four walks.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Sitting Wednesday

Rutschman is not starting in Wednesday's matchup against the Mariners, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Rutschman will take a seat after starting four games in a row, going 2-for-14 with a double and a run in those contests. Robinson Chirinos will take over behind the plate and bat eighth in Wednesday's matchup.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Yankees' Jose Trevino: Not in lineup Wednesday

Trevino is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Angels.

Trevino will head to the bench after going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start at catcher and bat eighth Wednesday.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Drives in three Tuesday

Raleigh went 1-for-4 with an RBI sacrifice fly, a two-run single and a run in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

The light-hitting backstop made plenty of noise out of the bottom of the order with his third multi-RBI effort of the season, all which have come from May 15 onward. His eventful night notwithstanding, Raleigh is still carrying an abysmal .136/.216/.333 slash line for the season, although five of his nine hits have gone for extra bases.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

    Athletics' Sean Murphy: Resting Wednesday

Murphy is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Astros, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Murphy will get a day off after starting six straight games, going 4-for-21 with a homer, two RBI and two runs in those contests. Christian Bethancourt will draw the start at catcher and bat sixth Wednesday.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Goes yard twice in win

Kirk went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.

He got the Blue Jays on the board with a two-run shot off Lucas Giolito in the second inning, then took the Chicago right-hander deep again for a two-run blast in the fifth that wound up supplying the winning runs for Toronto. Kirk snapped an 18-game homer drought with the performance and has only three long balls on the season, but he's riding a six-game hitting streak during which he's gone 11-for-21 (.524) with three doubles, six RBI and 10 runs scored.

  • Guardians' Austin Hedges: Not starting Wednesday

Hedges isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Royals.

Hedges started in the last two games and went 1-for-7 with a three-run homer, a walk and two strikeouts. Luke Maile will take over behind the dish and bat ninth.

  • Guardians' Austin Hedges: Clubs three-run homer

Hedges went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Royals.

Hedges came into Tuesday's contest with only two hits in his past 25 at-bats, but he went deep during the third inning with his third long ball of the campaign. The 29-year-old remains off the fantasy radar with a .155/.223/.282 slash line through 34 games.

  • Jose Trevino C | CIN

Yankees' Jose Trevino: Three hits including homer

Trevino went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Trevino singled and scored in the sixth inning and then went deep for a two-run shot off Kenny Rosenberg in the eighth. He also had a single earlier in the contest and the three-hit effort was his second in five games. Over those contests, Trevino has gone 7-for-15 for two homers, five RBI and three runs. He will likely continue earning more opportunities to start behind the plate if he remains hot.

  • Astros' Martin Maldonado: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Maldonado is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Oakland.

Maldonado started the past two games and will receive Tuesday off. Jason Castro will take over behind the plate for the Astros.
