Luke Maile C | CIN
Reds' Luke Maile: Hits IL
Mailey was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a herniated disc in his back.
Maile was removed from Thursday's contest with what was initially deemed a hip injury, but further evaluation revealed he's dealing with a herniated disc. The injury and subsequent IL stint means that Maile won't be eligible to return until after the All-Star break. Austin Wynns was brought up from Triple-A and should operate as Tyler Stephenson's primary backup.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Not in Atlanta lineup
Murphy is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Phillies.
Travis d'Arnaud will do the catching for Max Fried in the series opener. Murphy has a 1.050 OPS over his last 12 games and would seem to be a good bet to be in the lineup Saturday and Sunday.

Luke Maile C | CIN
Reds' Luke Maile: Out of lineup Friday
Maile (hip) is absent from the starting nine Friday against Detroit.
Maile was removed from Thursday's game in the seventh inning due to a hip injury and won't start Friday's contest. Early indications are that Maile's injury is minor, and it's unclear if he would have been in the lineup Friday even if healthy.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Stays hot in win
Moreno went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's win over the Dodgers.
Moreno singled in his third trip to the plate before then swiping his first bag of the season. He added another single and a two-run double in his next two at-bats, giving the catcher his third multi-hit performance over his last four games. Moreno has also driven in two runs in three of his last four contests (dating back to June 21) and is riding a three-game hitting streak since returning from the injured list.

Luke Maile C | CIN
Reds' Luke Maile: Removed with side injury
Maile was removed from Thursday's game in the seventh inning after sustaining a side injury near his right hip, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Maile said he was uncomfortable all day and felt pain on the follow-through of his swing that produced an inning-ending groundout in the bottom of the sixth frame. He remained in the game but was eventually removed the next inning. Maile described it as a nerve hurting on the lower right side of his hip. He received treatment following the game and reports feeling better already.

Elias Diaz C | SD
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Calf remains tight
Diaz said his calf is still a little bit tight Thursday, which is why he's not sprinting full out on the bases, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Diaz was reinstated from the 10-day injured list June 30 after nursing a left calf strain. Since his return, the catcher is 6-for-18 with two doubles. However, it appears the calf injury is still lingering, as the 33-year-old says he will be careful about it.

Henry Davis C | PIT
Pirates' Henry Davis: Resuming rehab assignment
Davis (concussion) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Davis was pulled off a rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona this past weekend after he experienced recurring concussion symptoms. However, he's evidently passed the necessary protocols and will resume things in Indianapolis. Davis could be ready for activation soon if he can avoid another setback, but he's not guaranteed to return to the big-league roster at that time.

Austin Wynns C | CIN
Reds' Austin Wynns: Outrighted to Louisville
Wynns cleared waivers Thursday and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
The 33-year-old backstop was dropped from the 40-man roster Tuesday following the return of Tyler Stephenson but will remain in the Reds' farm system instead of testing his luck in the open market. Wynns has slashed .250/.309/.410 in 110 plate appearances with the Bats, and he would be the first choice to return to Cincinnati should Stephenson or Luke Maile need to miss an extended period of time.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Return before break not ruled out
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that Realmuto (knee) is working out at 70-to-75 percent intensity, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Realmuto is three weeks removed from right meniscus surgery and is progressing nicely. The club is not ruling out a return for their starting catcher prior to the All-Star break if he proves to be ready by then, but it's probably more likely that Realmuto is held out until the start of the second half.
