Bemboom was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Monday.

There's been a shuffling of third catchers in Los Angeles. Bemboom was designated for assignment by the Angels on Saturday after the team claimed Chad Wallach off waivers from the Dodgers, but he'll now occupy Wallach's previous role in the Dodgers' organization. His career .178/.241/.287 slash line indicates the Dodgers won't want to use him in anything other than an organizational depth role.

Plawecki went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBI and a run Sunday in the Red Sox's 9-8 loss to the Blue Jays.

Though Christian Vazquez is entrenched atop the depth chart at catcher, Plawecki's hot bat could allow him to earn a larger share of playing time behind the dish, or perhaps more opportunities as a designated hitter versus left-handed pitching. In 12 second-half games thus far, Plawecki has gone 14-for-32 (.438 average) with three doubles and a 3:4 BB:K.

Cartaya (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Low-A Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 1.

Before hitting the temporary inactive list and then the 7-day IL, Cartaya went 10-for-28 (.357) with three homers, a double and a 5:6 BB:K over his last eight games for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga. That lifted his season line to a sharp .298/.409/.614 with 10 homers, 31 RBI and 31 runs in 31 games. However, RotoWire can report that, per the minor-league team, he's at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona rehabbing an undisclosed injury and is not expected to return to action this season. Assuming Cartaya recovers well from whatever's ailing him, he'll head into next season as one of the Dodgers' top prospects and one of the top catching prospects in all of baseball.

Realmuto went 1-for-3 with a home run in Sunday's win over the Mets.

Realmuto went deep for the second time over his last five games and has been seeing the ball well of late, racking up hits in all but one of his last eight contests. He's slashing .382/.417/.676 with two homers, 10 RBI, eight runs scored and a 2:5 BB:K over that stretch.

Wynns went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's 9-6 loss to Tampa Bay.

With Pedro Severino (knee) out of the lineup Sunday, Wynns got a rare start behind the dish. He made the most of the opportunity with his first multi-hit effort since June 29. The backup catcher has gone just 4-for-21 in seven games since the All-Star break, although three of those hits have been doubles. He's slashing .186/.230/.329 with two home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored in 74 plate appearances.

Narvaez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to San Francisco.

The catcher gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning with his 10th homer of the year. It's the second time in six seasons Narvaez has reached double-digits in long balls. He's been a fairly steady hitter this season with a .283/.372/.449 slash line, 34 RBI and 43 runs scored through 309 plate appearances overall.

Stephenson (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.

The catcher's scoring contributions came in the fourth inning, when he drove in a run on a fielder's choice and scored on a Kyle Farmer double. Stephenson missed two games with the hamstring injury, but he should go back to splitting time with Tucker Barnhart behind the plate. Through 281 plate appearances, Stephenson has a .282/.370/.419 slash line, six home runs, 34 RBI, 44 runs scored and 15 doubles.

Rutschman was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Rutschman appeared in 80 games at Double-A Bowie to begin the year, and he slashed .271/.392/.508 with 18 homers, 61 runs, 55 RBI and a stolen base. The 23-year-old will test his skills against the top level of minor-league talent, and he'll be in the mix for a late-season debut in the big leagues if he performs well at Triple-A Norfolk.

Rogers (forearm) hasn't resumed throwing and remains several weeks away from making a return to full health, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. "We won't see him in the month of August. September at the earliest," manager A.J. Hinch said. " \We just hope there are no setbacks at this point. If we do anything that causes a setback between now and September, then we're talking about missing the rest of the year."

Sidelined since July 19 with a pronator teres strain in his right forearm, Rogers' promising campaign could be at risk of ending early if hits any snags in what's already been a slow-moving recovery process. Though the Tigers value Rogers mostly for his defensive work at catcher, he hit his stride at the plate in the month before landing on the 10-day injured list, slashing .296/.367/.611 over that stretch. Eric Haase and Grayson Greiner will continue to share the catching duties while Rogers remains on the shelf.

Caratini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Caratini will cede catching duties to Austin Nola in the series finale after going 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Saturday's 6-2 win. Since Nola was reinstated from the 10-day injured list July 22, Caratini has picked up seven starts at catcher to Nola's eight, so the Padres seem content to deploy a timeshare at the position.
